Contemporary barn conversion in tranquil hamlet - boutique- hotel style decor

Tremodrett Barn is a beautiful, contemporary, two-bedroom barn conversion, graded 5 star by Visit England standards. Situated on a small private estate with 5 other barns, it is surrounded by fields and open countryside. Tremodrett is a tranquil,leafy hamlet yet close to the A30 main road through Cornwall, making it an ideal base for travelling around Cornwall and exploring the north and south coasts.

The open-plan living accommodation is flooded with light and located on the first floor to take advantage of the dramatic vaulted roof space and beams. A Juliet balcony opens onto the courtyard - perfect for a litte star-gazing! Laura Ashley sofas are complimented by a stylish oak dining table and chairs. Lamps throughout are Oka. The kitchen is equipped to a high standard with professional pans, a food processor and blender and Sophie Conran china. We also provide cookery books by Ric Stein, Mary Berry and Nathan Outlaw in case you want a little inspiration!

Downstairs are three bedrooms ( one small one serving as a dressing room) and a contemporary bathroom. The main bedroom opens onto the courtyard - so you can pop out easily for a quiet morning coffee - and has a beautiful contemporary oak four poster bed. A little luxury is essential on holiday, isn't it? The 20' second bedroom ( twin) is a dramatic room with sloping roof reaching into the eaves of the barn. Children and adults alike will love this room. Both are equipped with crisp white bed linen, goose-down duvets in winter and proper pillows! A small library including Daphne du Maurier and Poldark books and DVDs is provided to get you in the Cornish mood. You can snuggle up by the fire in winter.

Outside there are two garden areas - a private garden to the front receives sun throughout the day - and is decorated with palms and exotic plants which thrive in Cornwall's sunny clime. The slate patio has a dining table and seating for four. To the rear of the barn is a communal courtyard with miller's wheel decorated with mature hydrangeas and shrubs and a bistro table and two chairs.

The whole estate has been finished to a high standard and slate walkways and planting beds abound. In the fields we caught sight of roe deer in our first week and there is a resident woodpecker.

The barn is our own holiday home and equipped and furnished to a high standard, not purely as a holiday let, and we hope our guests will appreciate all our little extra touches and have a really comfortable and relaxing stay.

We love getting away for breaks and have been going to Cornwall for some years and love the slower pace of life and the stunning scenery.

Perfect holiday stay

Luxurious home from home but with access to all we needed in Cornwall. Endless beaches,restaurants and places to go but often staying in the bright,openplan living area to rest,relax and eat. A perfect balanced break in classy comfort. We will come again. Thank you.

A luxurious stay in this stunning barn conversion!

This barn is beautiful! The furnishings are so luxurious we felt we were in a 5 star hotel. It is very well equipped with every kitchen utensil and household item thought of. The area has provided us (family of 4 with 2 young boys) with a fabulously full schedule of boat trips, gardens, beaches and theme parks. We will definitely be returning to the area as there is so much more to do and I wouldn't be surprised if we find ourselves back in Tremodrett House.

As soon as we saw the barn and the estate we knew this would suit us and our guests really well. The location is so peaceful yet with the main road for Cornwall so close it is easy to get around the county. We love the granite and slate used throughout the estate and the barn is delightfully quirky with a beautifully light living space.

Nearest Airport : Newquay at 12 Miles Nearest Barpub : Roche at 1 Miles Nearest Golf : Lanhydrock Golf Course at 5 Miles Nearest Train : Bodmin at 5 Miles Nearest Motorway : A30 at 1 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Roche at 1 Miles Nearest Beach : Charlestown at 7 Miles Car: necessary

Tremodrett is a leafy small hamlet yet only about a mile from the main A30 road which runs into and through Cornwall making access to the north and south coasts and the whole of the county very easy.

There is a wealth of places to see within a short distance from the barn. Padstow ( the centre of Rick Stein's restaurant business) and the beautiful harbour of Fowey are about 10 miles from the barn. The famous Eden project is 5 miles away and the Lost Gardens of Heligan just a little further near the characterful fishing village of Mevagissey - 9 miles.

Port Isaac on the north coast ( Doc Martin's village) is easily reached together with Rock where Nathan Outlaw runs his restaurants.

There is a china clay park and museum nr. St Austell and a nature reserve close to Roche.

Lanhydrock ( National Trust) - 5 miles

The stunning bays of Newquay and Watergate Bay ( Jamie Oliver has a restaurant here) are within easy reach.

Truro cathedral city - 20 minutes.

The beautiful Narr peninsular and St Mawes are 40 minutes away.

A little further afield is St. Ives - 1 hour.

Surfing safaris are available from the nearby Lakeview resort which also provides swimming, stand-up paddle boarding, zip-wire surfing, yoga and exercise classes and a spa.

Cycles can be hired at Lanhydrock ( National Trust), the nearby nature reserve and Cardhinham woods.

We are able to offer short breaks Oct. -May outside school holidays. Please contact us for prices which are from £110 per night. For short breaks we ask for full payment at the time of booking.

All bookings are subject to out terms and conditions which will be forwarded together with the booking form.

We ask for a £150 deposit to confirm the reservation, with the balance due and £150 damage deposit two months before arrival. We accept payment by bank transfer or cheque. The damage deposit is fully refundable in accordance with our terms and conditions and is not applicable for short breaks. All bookings are subject to our terms and conditions on our booking form.
