Recently renovated, delightful 2 bed apartment (53 sq m) with a large balcony (13 sq m) and stunning views of Villefranche bay and Cap Ferrat. It has a spacious salon with air-conditioning and an open plan kitchen. It’s close to the beach and station – 5 minutes walk – and an easy 10 minute walk to the centre of Villefranche.

If two parties are sharing the apartment, you’ll have to toss for who gets which bedroom. The front one has a king size bed and access to the balcony; the back one is cosy – it takes a standard double, just – and has a window overlooking the courtyard garden. You'll love the luxury of The White Company bedlinen.

The kitchen opens on to the salon so the chef won’t feel isolated. It has all the electrical equipment you’ll need, including a Nespresso machine, toaster and an electric grill which you can use on the balcony – almost a barbecue but not quite. A fridge freezer gives ample space to store fresh food.

There’s a small library of books and maps on the local area, an assortment of DVDs, a large flat screen TV and internet access.

With the station being so conveniently close, you will hear the swish of electric trains as they pass but this stops for a good period at night. Mostly you’ll be serenaded by the sound of waves on the beach and the tinkling of halyards on the yachts in the bay.

No need for a car as the train service is brilliant! 10 minutes to the centre of Nice, 2 minutes to Beaulieu (with a good supermarket right next to the station), and on to Eze, Monaco and Menton, and 40 minutes to the Friday morning market in Ventimiglia.

The apartment could not be more perfect; it is as comfortable, well-equipped and chic as it looks in the photographs. (Amazingly comfortable beds.) It provides a perfect base from which to stroll down to the beach, or along to the town for shopping or restaurants, or further afield out along Cap Ferrat, (Villa Ephrussi) or over to Beaulieu (beach, palm trees, shops, cinema and Villa Kerylos) and it takes all of 3 minutes to walk down and jump on a train - to Monaco and Italy one way, Nice the other. In spite of all those possibilities, life on the balcony was so enticing, yacht-watching through thoughtfully provided binoculars, it was sometimes difficult to move. George and Pat were most welcoming and helpful. Could not recommend the apartment more highly. Can't wait to go back.

Picture Perfect:

The apartment is a delight, had everything we needed, including one of the most comfortable beds ever and one of the best coastal views of the Mediterranean. There's a clean sandy beach with clear blue water just three minutes walk away. We also enjoyed the walk along the coastal path to the southern tip of Cap Ferrat - no traffic, few buildings; don't walk beyond the lighthouse but retrace your steps and admire the return views. Don't miss the Villa Rothschild - you won't meet the original owner but you will know her!

Then there's Villefranche but I'll leave you to discover her charms.

Comfort and style on the Cote d'Azur

Everything was as we expected in this comfortable and stylish apartment overlooking the Mediterranean. Getting around was easy - by train from Nice airport almost to the door; by bus to central Nice and Cannes; and by taxi for an early return flight organised by George. We'll be returning!

Excellent and Perfect

George met us at the property as arranged, showed us around, leaving a cold bottle of wine and some bread was very welcome and makes all the difference.

The apartment is perfectly located, a five min walk from the stunning streets of old Villefranche, and basically on the beach.

It was clean, airy, had wonderful views, and a lovely bed again with sea views. Perfect we will return

One of the very best located properties in town.

The letting agent patiently guided us by phone through the less than intuitive route through Villefranche and saw us properly settled in. The waiting wine and nibbles were welcome. The apt. is wonderfully located above the only beach and within yards of the very useful railway station. (The slow commuter trains are not noisy and stop at night) A couple of hundred yards away is the old town, the restaurant lined quayside and a sufficient supply of provision shops. No long flogs up precipitous cliff-face paths. We used both bedrooms perfectly comfortably. The bathroom and its plumbing works well. The layout's use of space is clever, the furnishings are stylish and comfortable, the domestic machinery and entertainment apparati are in simple to understand perfect working order. Oh yes, the view's pretty good too.

Spacious quality apartment.

We (my husband and I) arrived quite late at night for our stay here and were delighted to find it was such a beautiful apartment. It was finished to a very high standard with quality bed linen and everything required for a relaxing holiday. Our host had kindly left us a complimentary bottle of wine and some cheese, bread etc. which we really appreciated at that late hour. After a good night's sleep we awoke to the most wonderful view and set out to explore our surroundings. It is ideally located, just a few minutes walk to the beach and the lovely waterfront of Villefranche with its restaurants and colourful harbour. The apartment was light and airy and the balcony gets the sun all day. We had beautiful weather for November and enjoyed breakfast on the balcony most mornings. The owner had left local information and books and DVD's to enjoy and overall it felt like a home from home. The train was only minutes away and we used it to travel into Nice and Beaulieu for sightseeing and dining. I would highly recommend this property and hope to return next year.
