Located in an area of spectacular beauty, the house has been restored with great character, is located in a quiet location yet close to town and amenities. A large first floor rear terrace overlooks a copse and stream, giving guests the impression that they are in the forest. An electrically operated awning turns the terrace into an outdoor room that is perfect for relaxing or eating. Well equipped kitchen with dining area, open tread spiral staircase to upper floor, A cosy sitting room with sofabed has french doors to a second terrace. Garden, laundry room and secure off road parking. Separate apartment sleeps 2\3 and is ideal for a family with teenage children or two families holidaying together.

Why Jean Endean chose Aubenas area

My husband was a textile engineer who worked in Prades for a year in the 1970's.

When he returned to the UK, we kept in touch with the friends he had made and were invited back to stay for holidays. We loved the area but soon realised that we could not continue to accept their generosity and wanting to continue visiting the area we decided to buy a house. We have transformed and extended the house over many years whilst maintaing the character of this late 19th century property. The first floor terrace and apartment below was added to the house in 2007.

What makes this house unique

The house exudes a sense of peace and tranquility. We never tire of waking up in the morning to the birdsong. Standing on the 1st floor terrace looking out on to the countryside gives one a feeling of actually being amongst the wildlife.

The house also enjoys being close to local amenities and shops so it truly enjoys the best of all worlds.

This is a beautiful area - rural but not isolated. Traditional french markets locally several times a week. Tourist information available at the house. Many good walks and cycle trails nearby. Vals (5 kms) has a casino, spa, Olympic size swimming pool and many sophisticated restaurants, as well as children's entertainment. Aubenas (8kms) is full of atmosphere with cobbled streets leading up to the Dome, unusual shops and many restaurants. There are many outdoor and indoor tourist attractions in Ardeche.
