Lovely little cottage remote enough to get away from it all. But close enough to feel part of civilisation!

Stayed 4 nights and ate out each night. Can highly recommend Grosvenor arms at nearby Alford. Wife particularly liked the roll top bath!

Super, cosy little cottage

We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage. Christine and Graham were very friendly and helpful and the cottage was beautifully clean, cosy and well equipped. Will definitely recommend to our family and friends.

Beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings.

  • 5 of 5

Barton bank cottage is a beautiful cottage in a gorgeous location. Christine (we didn't get chance to meet Graham) was warm, welcoming and provided information on local sights. The cottage itself is spacious and decorated well. A generous welcome box was provided during our stay. It was particularly lovely to wake up to the horses neighing in the paddock at the front of the cottage. Would recommend to friends and would love to return.

Would also recommend the cock o'barton for dining, lovely food and welcoming staff

Beautiful and romantic

  • 5 of 5

Graham and Chris were perfect hosts. The cottage was beautiful and our dog loved the field in front of the cottage - he especially liked visiting the horses in the paddock! Lovely stay, we didn't want to leave. The cottage had everything we needed and Graham gave us lots of tips on walks and where to eat. The Cock'o'Barton pub just minutes walk away is perfect for a drink and some nibbles. And the city of Chester and Cheshire Oaks shopping is just 20 minutes by car. We can't wait to come back - thank you Graham and Chris for a lovely holiday.

We were very impressed with the quality of the furnishings and beautiful design of the converted stable. The log fire was a perfect finish. Chris and Graham were amazing and really added to our stay. We would certainly recommend this cottage.

Beautiful place!

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful place to stay, stayed for 2 nights and easily could have done more! Owners very welcoming, welcome pack was brilliant, didn't expect everything that we got! Was never really warm in the cottage but wouldn't say it was a complaint, just take a jumper! It is a studio type room as lounge and bedroom all in one but definitely a little bigger than I was expecting which was a bonus! Would definitely recommend!
