About the property

A newly built, fully equiped chalet in great condition. Perfect in all seasons.

This is the perfect place to get away from it all, with stunning views of the mountains all around, and the distant babble of the river the only sound. The kids will love playing in the snow in the garden, and the meadow is perfect for sledging and building snowmen. At 1200 meters, the chalet gets substantially more snow than Morzine town. Chez Layan-ne, a traditional Savoyarde restaurant with large terrace is just 20 metres from the chalet.

The free Ski Bus starts and ends 80 metres from the chalet, stopping at the Nyon and Pleney ski lifts in Morzine (5 mins). In the winter you can also ski straight to the Nyon lift from the house, following the riverside path through the woods. If conditions are right, it is possible to ski off-piste from the top of Le Fornet in Avoriaz straight back to the Chalet.

A picturesque footpath runs through the forest alongside the nearby river right into Morzine. The Chalet is in the heart of the Valley de la Manche Cross Country Ski area, and is a popular starting point for ski-touring / randonee. It is also well located for Mountain biking and hiking in the summer. Lake Des Mines D'Or (www.lesminesdor.net) with its restaurant (June- Sept) is walking distance from the chalet, a further walk up the mountain brings you to the farm / restaurant Freterolles (seasonal).

The chalet is set over 3 floors. Top floor: 3 bedrooms (two single beds that can be pushed together) each with a balcony. 1 bathroom with shower. Middle floor: Open plan, fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher. Dining area and lounge with log burner. Dual aspect French doors onto wrap-round balcony. Ground floor: Two single bed bedroom with ensuite. Entrance hall. Utility room with washing machine and dryer. Garage/ ski storage and off street parking for 2 cars.

Why Info @ La Dalle Cachee chose Portes du Soleil area

Set in the stunning Vallee de la Manche, we love this property and its amazing location, tranquil, but with a restaurant/ bar within a minute's walk. In the winter you can ski along the river to the Nyon lift and the ski bus starts and ends right outside.

In the summer, the open space, wrap round balcony and garden with great views make it ideal for relaxing and BBQing - if you are not out walking, climbing or mountain biking!

You can walk, ride or skin up the road for about 15 mins to get to the Lac de Mine d'Or with its stunning views and restaurant. Keep going and you will find the Freterolles farm and restaurant, complete with goats, pigs and the best homemade cheese. At the top of the pass is the famous Col de Cou, which makes up the border with Switzerland. Stunning views of the Dent Blanche mountains open up, and if you are lucky you will see Golden eagles, peregrine falcons and many other migratory birds. From there you can drop down into Barmaz for a well deserved rest at the Cantine. The area is simply magical, summer or winter.

What makes this chalet unique

This property has the added benefit of lots of space outside, as well as inside - there is parking outside for 2 cars, in addition to the garage. The chalet has it's own garden which opens out onto the beautiful valley. In the winter, it's possible to ski to the Nyon lift along the river and in the summer this makes a lovely, shaded walk. There is a great local restaurant less than a minute's walk from the chalet with a large drinks terrace and fabulous views. In the summer, there are also 2 more restaurants walking distance from the chalet - one by the lake, and another further up the mountain. Morzine is a short, free bus ride (about 8 mins) away and the bus stops outside. The chalet is tastefully furnished in a traditional style with modern home comforts. The open plan living area has a log burner with french doors onto a wrap round balcony with amazing views. This property is actually on the cross country ski route and also well located for mountain biking.

Immaculate chalet with well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and loads of space for ski equipment and people. The sauna is an added bonus, as is the local restaurant two doors away, and the free bus service into Morzine. Big thumbs up.

Beautiful well-equipt chalet!

We just returned from a wonderful stay at this superb chalet - I would highly recommend it as an excellent base in Morzine. The chalet is set in a quiet part of town (served direct by a free and regular bus service) and has a good, traditional restaurant a couple of houses down (which is great for relaxed après-ski!). There are four good-sized double bedrooms (one en-suite), another bathroom and a toilet. The lounge and kitchen are a really good size too. The owners are delightful and very helpful for any request you may have. Overall, highly recommend!

Fantastic chalet!

Lovely, clean, well equipped chalet and the sauna was amazing. Great restaurant a few doors up. On the main free bus route so we found it very easy to get to the lifts and slopes. Will definately go back

Secluded yet easily accessible chalet

A clean and welcoming chalet with ample accommodation in a user-friendly setting. With the ability to view the night starts in peace, as well as being easily connected to town via bus service, this chalet offers it all. The added bonus of an outdoor sauna with a gorgeous view and a restaurant a few meters up the road, makes this a wonderfully relaxing venue to unwind after a hard day of off-pist exploring!

Wonderful chalet in Morzine

Had a long weekend in Morzine and was lucky enough to stay at this beautiful chalet. Had such a lovely stay and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy the slopes in Morzine/Three Valleys.

The chalet is extremely well catered for; a home from home. The kitchen is completely kitted out with everything you could possibly need, the lounge area has stunning views of the nearby mountains and the bedrooms are spacious with great storage and very comfortable.

The chalet is on bus route E and the bus stop is literally a 30 seconds walk away and can take you directly to the Plenney ski lift within 10 mins. We found the free bus shuttle service really great and efficient; the door to slope service meant we had very limited walking in our uncomfortable snowboard boots!

The restaurant next door offered great drinks & food although we also enjoyed popping to the supermarket in town and pick up a few local nibbles (and of course wine!).

The chalet is located in the most beautiful part of Morzine with breathtaking views - waking up to the views of the nearby mountains was an absolute joy.

Would recommend to families/couples/friends!

Beautiful chalet, great brand new facilities and really convenient for bus connection to the slopes. Moraine itself has great apres ski and the slopes have something for all abilities

The chalet is located in the beautiful, open valley de la Manche on the free 'E' bus route, just outside the centre of Morzine. The bus runs hourly and the bus stop is just 20 meters away. The bus takes you into Morzine centre or to the Nyon lift which is on the way. When there is enough snow, you can also ski from the chalet to the Nyon lift. The chalet is in a beautiful, peaceful valley with breathtaking views. The large deck is perfect for a summer BBQ, and there is nothing like a session in the outdoor sauna to soothe away those aches and pains! The garden opens onto a large meadow area, perfect for sledging, cross country skiing, or playing in the snow. 20 metres walk from the chalet is a cozy traditional family restaurant with delicious fondues! In the summer you can walk (or mountain bike) from the chalet up to the lake where there is a restaurant. Further up the mountain is a beautiful farm with a rustic restaurant selling homemade cheeses and mountain fayre.
