About the property

Langunnett Cottage is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom property with stunning views.

Langunnett Cottage is set in a development of 8 cottages on the hillside overlooking the Looe estuary and countryside. It comfortably accommodates 5 guests with three bedrooms, all ensuite, an outside patio area and a southwest facing balcony allowing plenty of evening sunshine. There's room for a sixth guest if needed via a provided foldaway bed (only suitable for children). There is also a travel cot (and highchair) for younger guests.

On the ground floor is a comfortable lounge with doors that open out on to the patio area, a flat screen TV, blueray DVD, bluetooth DAB radio, board games and a Wii console (please provide your own controllers and games). An archway leads through to the dining area with table and six chairs. A further set of patio doors lead out onto a sunny patio area with dining table and chairs and a BBQ. A few stairs take you to the first floor where there is a well equipped, modern kitchen with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/drier. Also on this floor is a single bedroom with en suite shower room.

A few more stairs lead up to the second floor where the large master bedroom has a kingsize bed, plenty of storage space and a spacious ensuite bathroom with jacuzzi bath and separate shower. This bedroom has access out on to the balcony with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and river. The twin bedroom, also on this floor, has a large en suite bathroom with bath and separate shower and this room also has access out on to the balcony. Gas central heating is provided keeping the property cosy all year round.

Langunnett is just a 10 minute downhill walk into Looe town centre with all it has to offer - golden sandy beach, rock pools, harbour, shops, and a wide choice of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and budgets. It's also just a few minutes walk from Looe train station. Parking is provided via a private driveway and carpark with an allocated space for Langunnett Cottage. Guests should be aware that there are numerous steps both in and around the cottage and grounds.

Guests will enjoy a comfortable stay all year round at Langunnett, it is the perfect spot for a relaxing holiday and for exploring Cornwall and Devon.

Langunnett Cottage is a special home which we love to visit. Our hearts belong in Cornwall and we love coming back to the region for our holidays. The cottage is set in beautiful grounds and always feels very peaceful and a great place to 'get away from it all'! However, just a short stroll and we are back in a bustling, buzzing, friendly town centre with all the amenities we need. A short drive and we always seem to stumble on a new place to explore.

What makes this cottage unique

The views from the patio and balcony are amazing. We love sitting out on a warm sunny evening enjoying the view and watching the twinkling lights of Looe come on. It really has a magical feel about it!

Lovely clean, quiet cottage with beautiful views

The whole family loved this cottage. It was well equipped, with lots of space. An ideal location for sightseeing around Cornwall. A climb up the the cottage, but well worth it. We'd recommend it.

Amazing week in a lovely cottage, perfect location

We were a family of 6, 4 adults in our 30's to 60's and 2 children aged 9 and 12. The cottage was perfectly located for walking into Looe. Yes the road up is steep and a sharp turn but not really any worse than most roads in the Looe or Polperro area. The walk into Looe was relatively easy and took about 10-15 mins, there are steps to come down the way we went and all of our party managed from the youngest to the oldest. You have to walk along St Martin's Road for a few metres but even with children common road sense is all that is needed. One of our party had a bad knee and was able to complete the walk there and back without problem. There is a lovely pub The Globe Inn on the way there/back about 5-10 mins away which has Happy Hour every night, serves food and welcomes all including dogs.

The cottage itself was perfect for our family, each room having it's own en-suite thus ensuring we all had our privacy. The layout of the cottage really suited us. The put-you-up bed wasn't really suitable for our child as the mattress was very thin but between us we managed to share and the double bed in the main bedroom fit 3 of us comfortably. And all beds were extremely comfortable.

The views from the cottage were beautiful and we left the curtains to the bay window in the master bedroom open every night to wake up to the views.

The cottage had everything you could possibly need. I took my own toilet rolls and washing tablets etc but even these were provided should they be needed.

It was spotlessly clean, it was in a lovely quiet area and we never had a problem using the parking space for guests as well as the one allocated to the cottage.

We wouldn't hesitate to stop there again, hopefully when we go back again next year and would highly recommend a stay there. One of our most enjoyable and relaxing holidays we have had in Looe

A well designed cottage nestling attractively into the side of a hill with great views of the river.

We are four 'older' ladies from Tasmania, Australia, who love to walk seaside cliff tops, shop in quirky shops, explore new terrain, cook local produce, eat out in good restaurants and pubs and Langunnett Cottage in quaint Looe served such holiday needs perfectly. Our favourite walk was the dramatic one from Looe to Polperro.

We drove easily to St Isaac, Padstow, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Helegan and then we ran out of time and wished we had booked in for longer than a week. So much more to do and see.

The listing description was accurate in all respects - admittedly both the entry by car and foot is steep but no problem for relatively fit 'elders'. The step from the footpath to the main road, does, as explained by Tracy, need to be done with care. The property was scrupulously clean, comfortable beds, well maintained and easy to look after. Tracy's customer service was very helpful before the stay and she also checked that we had got there okay. If the chance arises I would be more than happy to return and I would also recommend it to others.

Langunnett Cottage, overlooking Looe and the steep-sided river valley.

Langunnett Cottage is set high upon a hillside, together with several other holiday cottages, with stunning views overlooking the town of Looe and the river estuary. The cottage is well equipped, spotlessly clean and very spacious, comfortably accommodating our party of 4 adults, 1 child and 1 year old twins in a travel cot. Wi-Fi is not available.

However, access is a real cause for concern; being both difficult and dangerous and not for the faint hearted, none of which is made clear in the property details. By car, the cottage is approached from the main road, with a sharp left hand turn on to a steep, wooded, narrow drive, of tarmac and gravel, leading up to a second sharp right turn, on a loose gravel drive, up to the car park (fortunately, we didn't meet another cottage car going up or down). There is an allocated parking place for each cottage, plus one shared place for visitors to all the cottages. By foot, the town of Looe is described as 'a 10 - 15 minute stroll down the hill', but in reality it's a downhill walk, along a narrow footpath (unsuitable for buggies), cut into the hillside between other properties, with numerous steps and at one point leads straight on to a busy main road, with no footpath. The return walk is harder, with a gradient and steep steps to encounter.

We are extremely annoyed and disappointed that the property details are misleading, having made it quite clear from the outset (before we booked) that we wanted somewhere to stay that was suitable for young children, with easy access, within walking distance of Looe (with 1 year old twins, it also needed to be buggy friendly too) and with allocated parking for 2 cars. On arriving at the property, the access is scary and although the description of Langunnett Cottage states there are 2 parking spaces (one of the reasons we booked), in actual fact there is only 1 per cottage, plus 1 visitor space for everyone (first come first served), with no nearby alternative. We attempted to walk to Looe, but had to carry the twins, together with changing bags etc. and it was very dangerous walking along the main road, with no footpath, holding tightly on to a 4 year old. The misleading property details served to spoil the enjoyment of our holiday in Looe.

Langunnett Cottage is suitable for families with older children or groups of friends, not for families with young children, or for anyone with reduced mobility.

However, I do state that the cottage is set on the hillside and there is a downhill walk into town (and therefore an uphill walk back). I also state that guests should be aware that there are numerous steps (some steep) both in and around the cottage and grounds. I am sorry that this was not adequate information for you.

Beautiful Cottage in fine elevated position

A delightful unusual cottage in an ideal situation for touring east Cornwall and Devon.

The cottage is made of wood and situated in an elevated position, built into the hillside high above Looe. Accommodation is on four levels within the house with plenty of space for four or five adults. The views out across the river are really magnificent.

This cottage is ideal for a family with older children or for friends spending a holiday together. We would not recommend it for young children or for persons with limited mobility due to the gradients and many steps.

The cottage is tastefully furnished and very well equipped to a high standard. Wifi would be nice but not installed at present.

We are two couples who spent two weeks at the cottage in July.

Really enjoyed our stay. Need to be reasonably fit for the walk back from town due to steep hills and lots of steps, but worth the effort for the location.
