Family Holidays Or Weddings in a Quiet Traditional Cypriot Village. - Unit 3519839

Overview

Property

Updated: 31-Mar-2016
3 Detached Villas sleeping up to 15 with pool and wonderful courtyard.

The complex consists of 3 beautifully renovated stone built Cypriot village cottages on a site which boasts a swimming pool, a magnificent shady courtyard and parking for several cars, yet in the middle of a quiet traditional Cypriot village with beautiful mountain views and unlimited walking trails. The houses comprise 2 2 bedroom, The Little Palace and Sunset View and one 3 bedroom villa, The Old Cow Shed. All are available to let either separately or together,. All are air conditioned and provide spacious modern accommodation for up to 15 guests. The villas are built around a wonderful courtyard, containing mature mulberry, olive and clementine trees to give shade during the summer months. It provides an ideal venue for the family barbecues on those warm Cypriot evenings. Built in the best grape growing area in Cyprus the surrounding area boasts some of the best wineries in the country and if you are here during the harvesting season you will witness the use of donkeys to transport the grapes which has continued over the past millenniums. There are still several working donkeys in the village and they are used to carry the home grown vegetables and fruit to the local markets. The village is also fortunate in that it contains two excellent tavernas, one Cypriot and the other British owned, so there is a wide choice of food and drink to be had whatever your tastes. Another plus for the immediate area is the presence of the newly constructed Minthis Hills Golf Resort which is an 18 hole course of the highest standard which also provides an alternative source of food and drink and at only 4 kilometres away is virtually on your doorstep. Cyprus is now the 3rd most popular venue for weddings and Paphos in particular is by far the most popular. With a myriad choice of churches of all denominations or civil weddings which can now be conducted at many locations a wedding party of up to 15 guests can be easily accommodated at the villas. There is also a roof garden where the wonderful mountain and village views come into their own and is the perfect place for sipping a sundowner before heading off on the short stroll to one of the tavernas for a friendly welcome and an evening meal. If you want to travel further afield during the day or evening you have plenty of choices as either Paphos or Polis with their beaches and watersports within a 30 minute drive. Of these, Paphos is the place for variety with a Waterpark, Zoo and a beautiful harbour, guarded by a medieval castle, which provides boat trips, diving and fishing together with a wide variety of bars and restaurants. For any budding archaeologists Paphos abounds with relics of its Roman ancestry and some of the amphitheatres host plays, concerts and opera. .In fact Paphos is the European Capital of Culture for 2017. Shoppers are not forgotten either with the recent opening of the Kings Avenue Mall where you can while away the day and stay out of the midsummer heat. There really is something for everyone here..

About the Owner

Hi. Our names are Rita and John Stockwell and we are originally from West Yorkshire, moving out here to Cyprus in 2005. We originally bought this property for a few reasons. Firstly, we loved, and still do, the village and its inhabitants.so when we came across the restoration project it seemed the ideal place for us to make a beautiful village holiday home for our three daughters and their families. Two properties have been carefully restored and one new villa built on the site. Due to family commitments in the UK they can't now be here as often as they were so therefore we decided to rent them out for other people to enjoy for some months of the year. .
