Deilghtful little cottage in a charming village with a great pub!

  • 5 of 5

Well equipped and very comfortable cottage. We were a group of four adults, a two year old and a Bassett and it worked perfectly. BBQ'd everyday and had a meal at the pub - would highly recommend. Lovely children's park in the village and had a day at Wells. Fabulous weekend.

Fabulous character cottage, perfect as family base to explore North Norfolk!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect cottage to comfortably accommodate a family holiday! The accommodation was perfect, well thought out while retaining a lot of character, and space for a Labrador. The village was easily accessible with a tea room, good pub, and village shops with in walking distance. We managed to pack out the week with visits to scenic villages, windmills, beaches, Royal residences amongst other attractions.

The welcome pack with another thoughtful touch, and Lena was second to none in giving a warm welcome, useful information, and any cries for assistance!

Strongly recommended for a great holiday.

Very Clean and Comfortable

  • 4 of 5

Japonica Cottage is in an ideal location, being in a quiet road yet only 5 minutes walk from the main Fakenham Road and The Crown Inn pub/restaurant where we enjoyed a few excellent meals.

The cottage was very clean and well equipped and on our arrival we especially appreciated the eggs, bread, cake etc and the beautiful Spring flowers in red, white and blue in honour of the Queen's 90th birthday! Lena was there to hand over the key, point out the essentials (although the washing-machine was hidden in a cupboard and I didn't find it until the day before we left!) She had also lit the wood burner, a welcome feature coming in out of the wet and cold!

We would recommend this cottage to family and friends but would emphasise that due to the very steep and winding stairs and downstairs bathroom,it would not be suitable for parents with very young children, nor the elderly or those with mobility problems.

This was our first visit to Norfolk since moving to Suffolk last year and found that East Rudham was an ideal base from which to explore the area, from Kings Lynn to Cromer.

As it was the Queen's 90th birthday during our stay we decided to visit Sandringham House and spent a memorable few hours there in the beautiful grounds bathed in sunshine.

It is most certainly a place we will return to.

Lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cottage in a lovely quiet village. The owner, Lena, has gone to a lot of trouble to create a warm, contemporary file in a period cottage. Very well equipped and with good access to the coast.
