Opulent luxury in the Welsh countryside

Overview

Property

Updated: 09-Dec-2016
The Honey Pot - sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

The Honey Pot is a delightfully romantic cottage set amidst

the gorgeous gardens of Tyddyn Mawr Country House. There is no more a peaceful

and beautiful location and the owners care and love for where they live is

obvious to those privileged enough to stay in this tranquil haven. The cottage is

uniquely styled to be like a French palace and it is a spectacular success.

Carefully chosen items of furniture and thick sumptuous soft furnishings will

leave you relaxed and in complete comfort. Having received a Visit Wales 5*

award for excellence this cottage is something special whether in the hazy

summer months where you can walk through the gardens, feed the ducks and have a

picnic down by the private lake or you are curling your feet up in the sitting

room, keeping cosy while the snow falls outside in the winter while you are waiting

for a tasty meal bought from the farm shop nearby which is just a short walk

away.

There is plenty of things to do in the area. The harbour

town of Porthmadog is nearby, and the beauty coastal village of Borth y Gest.

The Snowdonia mountain range is in reach by car and so too is the Italianate village

of Portmeirion an absolute must visit for anyone new to the area. Fishing here

is great, the lake has some fish and guests are at liberty to fish there if

they wish. The owners also have the river Dwyfor forming part of the boundary

on their land and guests can also fish there for Salmon and Trout too.

A Beautiful Hidaway

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in The Honeypot Cottage, on arrival we were met by Joyce who showed us to the cottage, Joyce was very helpful and explained how everything in the cottage worked, the cottage was very clean and well laid out, the furnishing are of good quality, beds very comfortable and the walk in shower room excellent.

It's location is very quiet and peaceful and the gardens are nicely laid out and well looked after.

I had a couple of hours fly fishing on the lake which is also well looked after with all the grass around it mown and picnic tables dotted around it, a very pleasant area to sit and while away the time.

We spent an evening in Bleaneu Ffestiniog listening to the "Brithoniad Male Voice Choir" which was on my wish list, 2 hours well spent, we were made very welcome by the choir,

All in all a very pleasant week in a beautiful cottage, we would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a quite time in lovely surroundings in North Wales.

Lovely cottage ,beautiful location

  • 4 of 5

An enjoyable break in a charming cottage in the lovely welsh countryside. Very quiet and secluded although owners house was close by and we were not isolated. Fifteen minutes from beaches and market towns etc. Owners very helpful and very nice people who are fairly close by if needed but not intrusive.

Honey pot cottage stay

  • 4 of 5

Had a great few days at the honey pot cottage. The cottage was fully equipped with everything we needed. The surrounding areas were beyond expectation. The owners were very helpful and welcoming and on sight. Only one downfall was the tv signal wasn't very good. Overall we were very satisfied with the stay and would recommend.
