The Byre, Malvern Self-Catering Holiday Cottage for Two People

Updated: 04-Oct-2016

The Byre, Malvern is a charming self-catering holiday cottage which sleeps two people.

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at the foot of The Malvern Hills, it enjoys wonderful views from all aspects.

The cottage benefits from a private gate which opens directly on to The Worcestershire Way. This makes it ideal for walkers and cyclists yet it is only one mile from the centre of Great Malvern with its many entertainment, eating and shopping facilities.

The Byre adjoins the owner’s property but is completely self-contained. The main property is a 17th century threshing barn with Georgian brick and stone additions. The cottage comprises a large open-plan room with a sleeping area, a sitting area, a dining area and a kitchen area together with a separate shower room. With an abundance of oak beams, comfy furniture and a cast-iron stove, the cottage makes for a romantic and cosy retreat.

The cottage is well equipped and perfectly located for taking advantage of the spa town of Malvern. The Byre is an ideal destination for sightseeing, walking, cycling or just relaxing on short or long breaks.

Property was everything we wanted but dealing with Home and Away website proved extremely challenging. Would not go through this organisation again.

Charming hideaway in the Malvern Hills

  • 4 of 5

So enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of this converted barn in Great Malvern. The owners live next door and were on hand if we needed anything. They have modernised the barn with solid beams and lighting (including a string of fairy lights around the beam above the one step to mark off the sleeping area).

Delightful garden at the rear where we sat and read while drinking coffee or wine depending on the time of day. Loved being able to get straight onto the Worcestershire Way from the back garden and go for either strolls or long walks. Easy access to the town with its range of shops. We had been hoping to do some cooking but with only two hot plates and a microwave we ended up living off salads and M&S gourmet meals, not that I was complaining!

The barn is located near the north end of the Malvern Hills from where there are magnificent views and miles of walking tracks. I must get fit for our next visit...

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your good review, we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. It is worth pointing out that the "microwave" is in fact a modern combination oven, grill and microwave all in one which is capable of roasting, baking etc. Other reviewers have commented that they cooked roast meals with ease. There is a comprehensive set of instructions for this appliance in the guest manual in the cottage. We do hope you will return and visit us again and enjoy the peace and tranquility of our cosy cottage.

Perfect hideaway for a weekend

  • 5 of 5

This lovely converted cow byre provided everything we needed for a cosy weekend in the Malverns - even thoughtfully provisioned with milk, juice and cake, which was fantastic after a days cycling!. Quiet and peaceful with a lovely garden attached, there is great cycling and walking from the door. Would definitely go back if in the area again.

Absolutely Fantastic

Wonderful, cosy property with everything you need for a week or weekend stay. Clive & Joan were incredibly welcoming and gave us some great tips on local walks - which can be accessed right from the back of The Byre. Would stay again without a doubt.
