Overview

About the property

1 bedroom, 1 bathroom with wonderful views over Steine Gardens and towards sea

Come and stay in a fabulous newly renovated Regency building near the Palace Pier and sea front. Be right in the heart of Brighton where everything is accessible on foot. Suitable for families, sharers or couples. For larger groups the whole building is available to book, consisting of five individual apartments from 500 sq ft to 1,000 sq ft each. All prices include VAT.

This is a beautiful cosy one-bedroom apartment is on the top floor of a stunning Regency building on the historical Old Steine. It is directly opposite Steine Gardens and fountain. The view is fantastic for people-watching or just gazing at the stars. You can see the Palace Pier to the left and Pavilion to the right. There’s now the new i360 in the middle, further in the distance.

This is a very private apartment as it has its own landing and is at the very top of the house (three floors of stairs). It is an ideal love nest for couples but can accommodate two more guests on a sofa bed in the lounge.

The kitchen is off to the right of the lounge and has modern appliances and utensils for cooking and baking. If there’s anything particular you need, just ask.

The large bedroom is at the rear of the building. There's a UK king size bed and lots of cupboard/drawer space. It’s an ideal room for parents and baby as a cot can easily be placed at the bedside (we can provide cot and high chair for your little one). If you prefer, you can also bring the mattress from sofa bed in here as much quieter for guests 3/4.

The bathroom has a “P” shaped bath with excellent rain shower over. There’s a large illuminated mirror and lots of storage cupboards for your personal items.

We provide hotel-quality bed linen and two towels for each person. In the bathroom you will find toiletries from the "Simple" range. So no need to bring anything except your clothes if you booked in a hurry!

I love decorating and sourcing quality, stylish furnishings that are a little bit different. All my apartments are designed with flair and comfort in mind. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

About Jo Harfield

I made my first step towards hosting in 2008 when I offered my apartment to holiday-makers.

Back then it was a totally different industry. Most people going places would choose a hotel. We expected to be full in the summer and empty in winter.

But now, staying in privately-owned homes is so much more accessible to everyone around the world, which is fantastic.

I meet so many people from so many countries, I feel like I am the one doing the travelling!!!

I would be so happy if you chose to come and stay in one of my properties. I will never cancel your stay for a more lucrative offer so book with confidence.

Myself and Leah the Caretaker will look after you during your stay and will always be on hand if you need us.

Hope to meet you sometime soon. :)

Great apartment in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We - a couple from Vienna - were given a warm and friendly welcome by the property owner Jo Harfield who explained everything we needed to know about the apartment. The modern top floor flat is bright, very well-kept and stylishly furnished. The kitchen is new with all the necessary appliances (dishwasher, washing machine, oven, microwave etc.) and ample cutlery and dishes. A modern and very tidy bathroom, a sizeable bedroom overlooking the roofs of Brighton, a bay window living room with a view of Old Steine and a side view to the sea make it a pleasure to stay there for more than just a couple of nights. Last but not least: the location in the city centre very close to the sea, Palace Pier, the Royal Pavilion, National Express coach station (1 minute away), the famous Lanes, good supermarkets, shops is simply unbeatable and made our 8 night-stay a good and hopefully repeatable experience.

Nice apartment, great location, could've done with a lift.

  • 4 of 5

Me and my partner had a wonderful stay here. It was nice, cosy and homely, with a great view of the area and even peeking out at Brighton Pier from the window. It was a bit small, mainly the bathroom, but we could still easily move around the apartment and it didn't feel lacking in space. The bed was the most comfortable one I have stayed in, the kitchen had everything we needed in terms of crockery, there were still products that the previous stayers had kindly left for the next renters, and we had plenty of room and ease of space for plugging our own game consoles into the TV.

There's not a lot of complaints, but we do have a few small issues. Namely that the staircase is small and narrow, so my partner struggled to navigate it, especially when we carried our luggage through it. Adding to that, the apartment doesn't have a lift, which would have been convenient. This also makes it harder for people with possible physical disabilities. Our other issue is with the oven, which seemed to have a defect: the timer didn't seem to work correctly, among other strange issues, and using a specific feature could short out the apartment according to the landlord, Nathan, but despite this the oven was still usable.

But despite these small issues, our stay was wonderful and Nathan was really friendly and helpful the entire time we stayed. He was always open to contact and got back to us as soon as we messaged him, and was even there in less than 20 minutes. If we find ourselves needing a place to stay, we will gladly stay here again.

Great location, beautiful appartment, helpful landlord

  • 5 of 5

Had a lovely stay at Flat 5, 28 Old Steine from the moment we arrived. Beautifully presented 1 bed flat, but with further sleeping for 2-3 people. Location is perfect for beach/town, landlord Nathan really helpful with local knowledge. We had a brilliant time and will no doubt be back!
