3 Prideaux Cottages, Prideaux. 1 mile from the Eden Project.
average rating of 4.75 based on 4 reviews

Beautiful well equipped home.

  • 5 of 5

This house was like home from home. It had plenty of space for all of us (4 adults 5 children) whilst still being cosy. It was very well equipped making it easy to cook if you want to eat in. It's a good spot to explore Cornwall and has a beautiful view out the back of the house. The conservatory is lovely to sit as it's a real sun trap but there is furniture for you to sit outside in the garden too. We had a great week.

Beautifill home situated in the heart of the countryside

  • 5 of 5

The cottage had everything we required and more. A beautiful home with secluded well maintained gardens and stunning countryside views. Although a car is needed to get to other villages and towns there are lots of picturesque spots and woodland walks close by. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend especially for a family get together as our stay was. Thank you.

Very nice clean quiet property.

  • 5 of 5

Prideaux Cottage suited the six of us adults perfectly. The location means you have to drive everywhere, but St Austell is central to most places in Cornwall. We all found it a great location with some fantastic pubs with great food, all just a few minutes drive away.

To sum up a great property in a great quiet location.

A large, very comfortable house in pleasant rural position

  • 4 of 5

Property was very easy to find from the directions given. Ample off-road parking space for at least two vehicles. House lovely and warm upon entering. Everywhere very clean and well organised. We have rented many cottages over the years throughout UK and abroad and I have to say that we have never, ever had a property where there was so much provided in the kitchen - every utensil imaginable, numerous pots and pans, coffee machine and enough Denby Ware crockery to furnish a small restaurant. A large range cooker, microwave oven and dish washer were more than adequate for self catering.

There is a utility room too, housing washing machine and tumble dryer

The combined lounge/dining room was very large and provided with lots of comfortable upholstery. The log burner in a large inglenook was a real bonus especially as some of the evenings went very cold and the log burner complemented the central heating to make the room cosy.

The large conservatory was very pleasant to sit a while after a day's coastal path walking and there was a fair amount of bird life to watch in the pleasant garden.

The downstairs shower and toilet were small but very useful.

Upstairs the ensuite bedroom was huge and the other double room was of an excellent size too. In addition there are two other bedrooms able to sleep four or five youngsters. The family bathroom was spacious with bath and shower over.

The owner provided a small welcome pack, logs and kindling - all much appreciated.

There was, however, one small problem. WiFi was advertised as being provided albeit with slow connection and a BT router was situated in the hallway but we were unable to connect to the system wirelessly (with I Pad/Kindle devices) and resorted to the insecure BT FON network for our needs. The caretaker was notified of the problem but we heard nothing more. It meant we missed out on buying discounted tickets on-line for the Eden Project.

Prideaux village is centred around Prideaux House with its race horse stables and gallop and is an ideal location for exploring this part of Cornwall even as far as Lizard Point.

For a large family or group of friends I would wholeheartedly recommend 3 Prideaux Cottages, just be aware that you may have a WiFi difficulty if this is important to you.
