About the property

Sleeps 12. 6 Bedrooms. 5 Baths.

This pretty turn of the 20th century Piemonte farmhouse, set in several acres of its own land, has just been renovated using traditional materials and features. The interior has been tastefully decorated with some of the original farmhouse furniture and locally sourced furniture from the period the house was built. The atmosphere is warm and cosy.

There is a large garden with an outdoor yoga 'Shala'. We offer yoga, a variety of healing treatments and massage sessions on the premises.

Please email us for further details and bookings.

There are 2 neighbouring houses which are only lived in part of the time, so its extremely tranquil. is You can make as much noise as you like.

The house has 6 double bedrooms, 1 with en suite bathroom, 2 with en suite shower rooms and 2 further shower rooms. It will sleep 12 people comfortably. The house has been fully modernized with a large drawing room, a large dining room and a fully fitted modern kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, hob and oven. There is also a larder and utility room with a washing machine. There are lots of books, indoor and outdoor games for children.

There are also large covered and open terraces around the house leading to the salt water pool with a barbecue and dining area. The pool is designed with wide steps leading down to the shallow end so children can play and facilitating entry and exit.

The house is set in a quiet rural area at the end of a cul de sac, with pretty views in all directions over the Langhe hills. The hamlet of Brichetto, which in Piemontese dialect means "high point", is 10 minutes by car to Cortemilia where there are supermarkets, shops and great restaurants serving delicious local food at very reasonable prices (from £10 a head for 3 courses to £35-£40 a head for the top price).

30 minutes by car takes you to Alba, a pretty medieval town with every type of shop and restaurant and it is an interesting place to visit. It is world famous for its white truffle market in October and gastronomy.

45 minutes by car to the south is Savona and the mediterranean sea with many attractive seaside towns to visit along the Ligurian coast.

Genoa airport is about an hour away. Turin is just under 2 hours away and Milan is just over 2 hours away.

There are plenty of things to do, such as, walking, truffle hunting, visiting old towns and villages, tasting some of the finest wines in Italy: Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo, Arneis and some really excellent sparkling wines, motorcycle tours and horse riding. The area is famous for creating the Slow Food Movement, varied gastronomy, for example cheese, salami, chocolate, hazelnuts, truffle flavored dishes and handmade pasta.

About Paul Martinez

We live in Cortemilia, about 10 minutes from Gorzegno. I (Paul) am English from Winchester but speak fluent French and Italian. My wife, Marie-Claude is French, from Paris and with our daughter Lola, who now lives full time in Cortemilia, we manage this property with great care.

Paul Martinez purchased this farmhouse in 2013

Why Paul Martinez chose Cuneo

This property is in a small hamlet, one of 3 houses and the end of a cul de sac but the other two houses are not lived in. It is quiet with beautiful views in every direction over the Langhe Hills. we all felt very attracted to this spot because of the beauty and tranquility.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Now that the old farm house has been lovingly restored, it is a joy to stay there and relax. It is such a zen location that Marie-Claude and Lola run relaxation and healing retreats from the property as well.

Beautiful spacious house in a peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

You can only love this beautiful and large house, situated in the middle of a quiet and peaceful surrounding. Very nice bedrooms and bathrooms. Large kitchen and living room.

Very nice and large garden with great swimming pool.

Well situated for excursions to Alba, Asti, Acqui Terme and so on.

We also enjoyed very much the yoga and the massage by Lola Martinez.

The Martinez family is also very kind and helpful.

Great Farmhouse in lovely location

  • 5 of 5

Our first time in Italy was not disappointing. The owner Paul was really friendly and helpful and even dropped some produce from his garden to us!!!

The property is beautiful with ample space and facilities. As a family with 4 kids everything we wanted was provided. The town is not spoilt by tourists and is real rural Italy. If you want nice wine and tranquillity this is the place for you.
