Ta` Gakob apartment is situated in one of Malta` s fantastic locations....Tas Sellum in Mellieha with easy access to shopping facilitates, public transportation as well as a quick swim in the cool waters of the Ghadira Bay situated just 10 minutes away.

Ta` Gakob apartment can easily accommodate up to 6 persons. It is situated in the second floor of a block of four apartments completed with an elevator. There is plenty of (free) parking outside the building. A car is not a necessity as the village is 5 min away on foot close to all shops, bars, restaurants, supermarkets. All linen and towels provided. Beach towels to be provided by guests.

Sip a sparking glass of cool wine watching the twinkling lights of the peaceful hill where the Mellieha church is situated or enjoy a nice display of fireworks in view of the activities taking place in the quaint village of Mellieha. All this can be seen from one of the bay windows situated in the living room of Ta` Gakob apartment.

This apartment is made up of the following;

- a spacious fully equipped kitchen opening up to an open living/TV area room completed with a balcony. The living room comes with a flat screen TV and WiFi.

- a double bedroom with an ensuite shower opening up to a small balcony;

- another double bedroom with;

- one single bedroom with 2 beds;

- a washroom opening up to a large terrace with open views.

Plenty of sun bathing space is available and you will enjoy the famous Mediterranean sun the whole day. An outside dining area ensures that you will spend evenings enjoying beautiful sunsets while alfresco dining.

Ta Gakob offers guests a unique holiday in Mellieha, away from the crowds but will within a short drive to all amenities, beaches, etc. The apartment is about 20 minutes away from the Gozo ferry.

My name is George and I live in the locality of Zurrieq in Malta together with my wife Cynthia and our two daughters, Michela and Julia. GCM Holiday Apartments is a small family run business which we have set up and run jointly for the last nine years.

How did we start?

The first property making up the portfolio of GCM Holiday Apartments was Ta' Kurun property in the locality of Marsascala in October 2006. After 5 years renting Ta' Kurun apartment, we bought our second property adjacent to the first one......Ta' Rosi apartment. We are now investing our energies in expanding our portfolio of apartments ......Ta` Gakob. We are working on finishing a three bedroom apartment furnished with all modern amenities hosting from 4 to 6 guests. This property is situated in Mellieha which is a quaint village situated in the northern part of the island surrounded by nice beaches and numerous tourist attractions.

What is our motto?

Our motto is to offer accommodations of good value so that this increases the entire holiday package which the lovely country of Malta has to offer to its tourists. All our apartments offer a great escape to guests who want to relax and enjoy some tranquil days from the hassle and bustle of every day life. Sipping a good glass of wine on one of the terraces of the apartments watching the sun setting or twinkling stars is surely a dream come true for all of us who are tied up in busy schedules and stuffy offices all day long.

What are the services offered by GCM Holiday Apartments?

We collect our customers from the airport and take them to the apartments situated in Bella Vista, Marsascala. On the way to the apartment, we show our customers the facilities which are available in this locality such as restaurants, shops, the bus terminus, etc. We furthermore offer bicycle rental as well as car rental services upon request.

The property is extremely well located as it is close to the bus station and the best beach in Malta

We are a young couple who traveled at the end of September to Malta and chose this property as accommodation for 11 nights. We are very happy with the choice we made as George and his property really made our holiday a special one. George was most helpful and the description, as well as the pictures on the website are 100% true. The apartment is well equipped in terms of house appliances and also a good wi-fi connection and AC if needed. Apart from this, George offered us a free ride to and from the airport and we appreciated it a lot.

Thank you very much George for all your support and kindness! We will be back!

Lovely apartment and neighbourhood

Were staying there in June 2016, three adults and two kids.

Lovely apartment with gorgeous view! Walking distance to the beach. Just across road from church. Nice barbecue on the roof. Very silent area.

The landlord is very helpful. Organized our transfer from and to the airport.

The Mellieha bay beach is very nice and child-friendly.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay and would definitely come again!

Good size apartment in a great location

The apartment was as described and the views to the town were spectacular. The area was quiet and suited us as we wanted peaceful evenings. It was well maintained and very confortable with all the items you need for a trouble free stay. The kitchen was particularly well equipped, and the laundry facilities excellent. George was on hand to sort out a minor problem during the week.

We enjoyed the walk up to the town which had sufficient shops for our needs, baker, butcher and supermarkets. The walk down even better!

Happy to recommend this apartment both for its facilities and location.

Little gem

We had an amazing time In this apartment highlights George collects and returns you to airport ..beautiful equipt & spacious apartment with a lovely balcony to watch sunset .. Views of the bay & the stunning church lighted up at night that looks like a fairytale !!!! No outside noise as you are in the middle of the hill but still close enough to walk up town or to the beach & recommend a weekly bus pass from post office at €21 unlimited Beach towels provided at a very small charge .. There was also milk bread etc for us as we arrived very late which was really appreciated & George was at end of a call if any problems which there was none ... A wonderful stay to explore the island Loved it & would highly recommend !!!!!!

Ta` Gakob property is different to the other two properties; it accommodates up to 6 persons while the other properties accommodate up to four persons. This makes it more attractive to families having two to three children. The other two properties attract couples who wish to spend a tranquil holiday in a quiet place. \Furthermore Ta` Gakob property is situated in the northern part of the island whereas the other properties are in the Southern part of Malta.

Mellieha, a picturesque town in the North of Malta

Mellieħa is a village located in the Northwest part of Malta. Mellieha is one of Malta’s most attractive tourist and summer resorts with beautiful sandy beaches and blue sea. Mellieha has Malta’s largest sandy beach, Għadira, which is perfect for families with small children, as the water remains shallow for a considerable distance from the shore. Mellieħa also has a lot of splendid seaside hotels, good restaurants and many traditional souvenir shops. During the summer months the population increases significantly due to many Maltese having summer residences in Mellieha, but the all year around inhabitants are around 7250 people in an area of 22.6 km2.

Mellieha’s main Village Feast “Il-Vitorja” is held in the beginning of September and it reaches its peak on 8th September. During this popular feast, the village is full of activities such as musical concerts, fireworks, folk singing, food stands, and exhibitions and of course many religious processions in honour of Our Lady of Victories. The Mellieha village feast is a great experience to both tourists and locals.

For tourists choosing to spend their holiday in Mellieha it is worth renting a car, as it is about 20/30 minutes from St Julian’s.

Mellieha: Things to do and see

Ghadira Bay: Easily accessible, this spot is a favourite with families, who tend to stay out for the day. There are sun beds and umbrellas for rent, but there is still space on this wide beach for anyone wishing to bring their own equipment. There are plenty of snack bars and small cafes and the beach offers different types of water fun, such as pedal boats rental, parasailing or large floating play areas.

Ghadira Natural Reserve: The nature reserve encloses two types of habitat that are very rare in Malta: wetland and salt marsh. The area was declared a bird sanctuary in 1978 after BirdLife Malta presented scientific data to the government showing the ornithological value of the wetland (read more here).

Armier Bay: The sandy beach at Armier stretches around the shore of an open bay and is just a short drive away from Ghadira bay. This sandy bay has a lovely view over the Islands of Comino and Gozo. Bars and small restaurants provide the necessary beach facilities.

Popeye’s Village: This popular attraction is the film set of the 1980 film, Popeye. Popeye’s Village has daily shows for the tourist as well as rides for the younger children, slides, trampolines and a Lido. http://www.popeyemalta.com/

St. Agatha’s Tower: This Tower, guarding the bays of Mellieha and Ghajn Tuffieha, is more known as the Red Tower. It was built to act as a signalling post in 1647 for communication with the island of Gozo, so it’s natural that it dominates the skyline of Malta's Marfa Ridge. It originally housed cannon, 30 men and enough food to withstand a siege for 40 days (read more here).

White Tower Bay: White Tower Bay is enclosed by a fortification wall that was built by the knights.
