Beautiful home, historic location

  • 4 of 5

This cottage was beautiful- it felt like it belonged in a home decor magazine. The only drawback was the lack of a washing machine. With a 7 night minimum stay, we had to do laundry, and the only place in town was either closed or just locked up each time we tried to visit. We ended up having to drive to a bigger town to find laundry services. A car is a must here- there is so much to see just a drive away. We went to stonehenge one day, kilve beach another day, and we drove all throughout the Cotswolds - beautiful. The town of cirencester is a great place to spend a day or two as well, we learned a lot visiting the corinium museum and the trails and footpaths around town are amazing. We really enjoyed our stay, the Days were excellent hosts. Thank you!

Great launching pad for Cotswolds and beyond

  • 5 of 5

This was a great little cottage that met all of our needs. It was in a nice location within a quarter mile of a pub and a convenience store and easy walking distance into the heart of Cirencester. The cottage is in a quiet area with very little traffic. Having off-street parking was very nice, the gardens were peaceful and fragrant, and the house had the necessary amenities.

We came on holiday from America, and since we are used to driving a lot, used this as our home base for day trips to Bath, Stonehenge, South Wales, London, and Cotswolds towns. Cirencester has more to offer than we probably initially anticipated though, with plenty of nice restaurants, pubs, historical landmarks, parks, and a nice public swimming pool.

The somewhat obvious downsides of booking an older cottage: the staircase is steep, and beams can interfere with tall peoples' headspace. Our heads may have connected once or twice with the ceilings. And it's on a narrow street, which was a bit nerve-wrecking the first few times since I was driving a hired car I didn't know well (with the steering wheel on the "wrong side"). This is not a negative of this particular home, just an observation that we were reminded that Americans are used to everything being big.

All in all, a very nice stay in a great cottage in a great location. Highly recommended.

Superb, we spent 8 days at this wonderful traditional stone cottage with a quintessential English garden with a bonus of private parking. Spacious, with everything you need, spotlessly clean, beds to sink into with amazing linens, walkable to town but peaceful and serene. You can relax into this cottage as a "home" which is so appreciated. The hosts were gracious, helpful and very welcoming. Grab this one if it’s available. And, writing as picky North Americans, a great shower with tons of hot water and soft towels - lovely. Thanks so much Sue.

Pretty Victorian cottage in a perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds.....

  • 5 of 5

We just spent a wonderful week in this pretty cottage, it is as lovely as the photos and has everything you need....and the weather was perfect!

Cirencester is only ten min walk away, where there's alot of restaurants, pubs, museum and even an open air swimming pool.(which we spent a whole day relaxing whilst the kids practiced their diving)

It's also a great location to explore all the beautiful Cotswold villages...Bibury is 16mins drive, Stow-on-the-wold is 30 mins drive, Bouton-on-the-water is 24mins drive, Painswick is 34mins drive etc. You can get maps on the 'Jubilee Walks' (aprox 4mile walks) around these villages from the tourist information centre in Cirencester (which we did, and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area and countryside around these villages)

A very comfortable cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

This is a pretty, comfortable and well equipped cottage. The location is great for exploring the local area. Cirencester is an interesting town with good shops.

The owners of the cottage made us feel very welcome and were there if any help was needed.
