As you turn off Brantfell Road and travel along the private road past a couple of houses you will find Jaspers Retreat tucked away at the end on the right.

The drive way offers parking for two cars, with space for a third in the large garage which also offers secure storage for mountain bikes and canoes.

Entering through the oak doors, the large entrance hall, complete with slate feature wall, opens to a useful boot/utility room with washing machine and plenty of space for drying walking gear,

The first of 3 bedrooms is on this level and features lofted beamed ceiling, a king size four poster bed, TV, and the added luxury of French doors which open to a private balcony with seating to enjoy the lake view. The Luxury Wet Room with overhead rain shower is just across the hall.

Steps from the hall lead up to the impressive open plan living space with large floor to ceiling sliding walls of glass and windows that open onto a large balcony with breath taking stunning views.

The living space offers underfloor heating, a cosy woodburning stove ,lofted ceilings with oak breams and sumptuous furnishings including comfy knowle sofas and Eames chairs with footstools which will ensure relaxation whilst enjoying the 48" smart TV with full bt TV and sports packages included. There is also free secure wifi.

Choose between using the large oak dining table, ideal for family dinners and special occasions, or dining alfresco on the balcony which features infinity glass balustrade and plenty of sofas with comfy cushions to relax and while the hours away.

The kitchen has all you may need, featuring handpainted wooden units, granite worktops and American Fridge Freezer. There is a dishwasher, but even washing up is a pleasure when you can stand and enjoy the view from the sink that is second to none! There is plenty of crockery and glassware, both indoor and out varieties, to enjoy entertaining In style.

Down the oak staircase from the entrance hall are 2 further bedrooms each individually styled.

First a large superking bed room, (zip and link allows for use as a twin room), with luxury ensuite shower room and walk through dressing room.

Second a lovely king size oak sleigh bed room with ensuite/jack and jill bathroom with walk in rain head shower.

Both bedrooms have a flat screen TV and feature large sliding patio doors to astro turfed garden patio and lake views.

You will find high quality furnishings throughout including super comfortable beds and luxury linens to ensure you get a great nights sleep after your excursions into the surrounding countryside.

The gated garden area keeps dogs and children secure, whilst you can enjoy sitting on the extended patio area with more outdoor seating and those lovely views!

We have made our home very Dog friendly with oak or tiled floors throughout.

About Pat Richardson

The owners Pat and Clive wanted to create a lovely luxury retreat which was dog friendly. We chose the home for its location, but it needed a lot of work! So we set about an extensive refurbishment and extension to create a stunning home for ourselves and our guests to enjoy. We live in Sheffield where we have a retail business in the Meadowhall Centre "Candletime" and we try to get away for it all and enjoy some R&R only 2.5 hours away. We also own a property in Orlando Florida and take a couple of holidays there each year to catch some quaranteed sun!

Unfortunately our lovely dog Jasper is no longer with us, but he loved our lake view home and the walks and dog friendly pubs close by, and we have named our home Jaspers Retreat in his memory.

Why Pat Richardson chose Windermere & Central Lakes

Now our dream house, with lake views, open living space so all guests can enjoy time together and private spaces to get away for a quiet moment, started as an ugly duckling but the view and location stole our hearts.

After 18 months work extending, and refurbishing to a luxury standard we now have a very special holiday home.

We enjoy the many local restaurants, walking round the lake or fells, riding on the lake cruisers or shopping in the many shops and villages close by.

We took our holidays in Bowness to be with our dog Jasper, but could never find a luxury property which took dogs! So we decided to create our own and hope that you will enjoy it too...

What makes this house unique

The lake views and access to walking right from your door makes this an ideal location for walking or relaxing.

We have ensured you can enjoyed rainy days by the log burning fire by providing free wifi, large flat screen TV with soundbar and full TV and sports packages. You will also find a music system for radio, cd or streaming from your own device.

The fabulous first floor balcony off the main living room offers plenty of comfy seating and allows for dining alfresco, sunbathing or sitting in the shelter of the infinity glass balustrades, enjoying the view of lake and mountains.

Sitting outside is so quiet - you could be miles from anywhere, meanwhile you are only minutes away from the lively Bowness village with its fabulous restaurants and lovely range of mostly independent shops.

There is so much to explore either on foot from your doorstep, the Dalesway Walk is at the end of the lane, or by car you can travel further afield. Try the car ferry across the Lake and drive the circular round via Hawkshead and Ambleside and back through Windermere to Bowness.

Whatever the season you will find you can unwind and enjoy your time away at your home from home.

Fantastic holiday home

We have just come back from great week. We took our Labrador toby and he had time of his life. Plenty of walks around and did not have to worry to much about sheep. Bowness is only a short walk away and the angel inn welcomes dogs as do most pubs

The house is every much as good as brochure pictures and I would thoroughly recommend jaspers retreat.

We liked it so much already booked for 2018

What a stunning place!

Everything we hoped for and more! That view over Windermere from the house is worth the money alone ! Everything about Jaspers is as good as the photo's /video . We just didn't want to leave! We don't normally book to go back to the same place 2years running , but it's under serious consideration! The only drawback is that blooming hill!

Stunning home

Beautiful house with breathtaking views. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect house and location. To wake up to views over Windermere every day is just amazing. Contemporary furnished to a very high standard and wonderfully comfortable beds. We all got plenty of sleep after each day exploring the many walks nearby. Thank you we will definitely be back and cannot recommend it enough. Our little cockerpoo Max had a blast. We really do not want to leave. The Stovell family

Amazing property

overall we had an amazing stay and the property was even better than the photo's on line. One issue we has was with maintenance! Reported a problem with unlocking the front door from the inside and a 10 light, light fitting in a bedroom only has one bulb working. they came same day and said specialist electrician needed to replace bulbs ( one never came) and the front door was a little tricky - end of story. Sorry when you are locked in and unable to open the front door this is serious, we were there for a week and nothing was done about either problem! We had to use a door in the utility room.

We can confirm that the light has now been fixed as a new fitting had to be ordered. The temperamental front door lock has also been attended to. Luxury at Jasper's Retreat

This property has been finished to the highest standards, making it a pleasure to be in for all of us. We enjoyed cooking and eating both at Jasper's Retreat and the local pubs The Angel and Village Inn Bar and Grill, both within 5 minutes walk. Ideal location for walking to the shops and Lake Windermere too. The service from making our booking was both prompt and professional. We would love to come back and stay again but the booking calendar is almost full now for next year! Thank you for making us welcome to share your beautiful home.

Set in the Lake District National Park, with spectacular views of Lake Windermere and the hills beyond.

Join the Dalesway walk right outside, or take a ferry ride on the lake and join one of the many hiking trails Round the lake and fells. Visit the Beatrix Potter museum or Wordsworths house and locations, the Lakes Motor Museum and aquarium.

Enjoy shopping in local and regional shops and eat in the many restaurants just minutes from your door.

You can enjoy leisurely days just enjoying the view from your living area and extended decked balcony with views of the wonderful lake Windermere and the hills beyond, enjoying the peace and quiet, yet only minutes away from the bustling village.

If travelling further afield, visit Ambleside and Grasmere, Call in at the Chesters coffee shop at Kirkstone bridge for some great food and retail therapy before heading out to walk by Lake Elterwater and on to Grasmere.

Cartmel famous for its sticky toffee pudding is about 20 minutes drive and you may even catch a race at the lovely little racecourse! Visit Sizer Castle, Muncaster Castle, Holker Hall and Gardens, the famous topiary gardens at Levens. ... There is just so much to do and see you will need more than one trip to see it all !!!

Bowness village is set In a stunning position on the eastern shore of Lake Windermere,and is the most popular tourist destination in Cumbria; buzzing with activity and arguably the best place to buy an ice-cream.

A few minutes’ stroll from the village high street, you’ll find plenty of family activities in Bowness Bay. Feed the swans, play tennis or crazy golf on ‘The Glebe’, or why not hire a rowing boat for a few hours? If you’re exploring the wider Lake District or heading for the fells, there’s plenty to return to in the evening. Fantastic restaurants, a 3-screen cinema, contemporary bars and two nightclubs.

If you’re serious about boating, you’ll find Windermere Yacht Club within walking distance and Windermere Marina Village nearby. There are plenty of specialist shops to explore, and experts to chat to at Shepherds Boat Sales. But even if you’re not an enthusiast, from Bowness Pier you can explore the entire length of Lake Windermere on a stunning ‘Steamer’ cruise. The boats run all year round, with live music events on summer evenings.
