Castle House Farm includes a Grade ll listed farmhouse, which has been carefully restored by the current owners. It has been in the same family for 70 years; purchased by Harry and Becky Brownridge in 1947 for their son Arthur Matthew. The oldest part of the house is 17th Century , but it is thought the property is on the site of a much older long barn. The presence of original Yorkshire sliders, Georgian sash windows and Victorian casements provide a clue to the development of the farmhouse over previous centuries. It lies in the historic and picturesque village of Hunmanby. It is about three miles from lovely, sandy beaches and is also the gateway to the gently rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds. It features original beams and tiled corridors, uneven with wear in places. Most of the upstairs rooms feature cast iron fire places. The decor is sympathetic but with a modern twist.

Bedlinen & Towels are provided.

This is a non smoking property.

Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome at a surcharge (£25 per pet).

There are 2 restored cart sheds and 2 additional car parking spaces onsite, one of which is reserved for the cottage next door. Additional free off-site street parking is close by. Level access to the property to the rear.

Serenity - 5/5 - great place to stay in Filey

Stayed here for a week in August with my wife and young son (22 months) - on arrival the owner, Andrew, met us and showed us round the property and told us everything we needed to know. Andrew is a great host and was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The property is maintained to a high standard and provides many comforts such as washer, tumble dryer, Sky TV and wifi all included in the cost of the stay. The property (Serenity) is on the first floor, there's no lift but you can park outside the property between 6pm and 10am during the peak season which makes things easier when loading/unloading. The property does provide free parking round the back for those days that you want to leave your car and walk. It's very close to the shops and centre of Filey, taking about 10 minutes to get onto the beach.

We would definitely return to the property again having enjoyed our stay here and I would recommend to all my friends and family.

Tranquility

My teenage son, my dog and myself have just recently spent a week in this lovely lower ground apartment. The apartment was very clean and had everything necessary for an enjoyable holiday including washing machine and dryer (very handy) Sky tv and free wifi (to my sons delight). We were within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and the beach. There is also a good bus service into Scarborough. I would definitely recommend this property to family and friends.

Car: recommended

Hunmanby is a relaxed village with a holiday-style way of life, you are close to the beach and within a short drive of the seaside resorts of Scarborough and Filey. Perfect for taking the kids down to the beach with a bucket and spade, grabbing some fish and chips or enjoying an ice cream.

Just a short drive down the road is The Bay, Filey. The Bay is home to a leisure centre boasting a gym, sauna and swimming pool. On site you will also find a putting green, tennis court and the John Paul Jones pub which serves great food - we recommend the gourmet burgers!

Walking or cycling routes are in abundance along this coast, so there is plenty to do. There are also a selection of local golf courses within reach if you want bring your clubs!
