About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Close to Beach, Coastal Path and Pub Restaurant

Self Catering Eco-Lodge on the North Cornwall Coast

Sea Whisper was new to the rental market in 2014, one of six cedar-clad eco-lodges at Wheal Friendly Gardens, Rocky Lane, St Agnes

Serene, ultra contemporary yet comfortable, the house offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the beach below. The accommodation spans one level with a lovely open plan living space for relaxing, cooking and catching up on the day's events. With French windows opening from the sitting area and the master bedroom, the interior flows easily onto the large enclosed deck. Dine in style or lounge about on the comfy garden furniture overlooking the treetops in the valley below.

Adventure or relaxation on your doorstep. Drift onto the beach, a 5 minutes walk away, to surf, kayak, swim or paddle under the watchful eye of the coastguard(during the summer season). Or simply relax on the beach or in the beachside Bistro with a coffee or something stronger. Delicious food an extra option.

Walk onto the cliffs to join the coastal walks. An all year round holiday where you can experience nature at its best throughout the seasons the brilliant purple heather and yellow gorse along the cliffs, sight of a seal, huge storm waves as exciting as the beauty of the flat turqoise sea in the summer sun.

Popping to the shops is a 10 minute walk as long as you you dont get delayed by the cafes and galleries on the way or simply to stop and look at the view.

Superb pubs and restaurants on the doorstep offering great local food including a fish restaurant in the Trevaunance Cove itself. A special place that is loved by the locals and visitors alike.

One allocated parking space

Why Alison White chose Truro & Falmouth area

We were looking for somewhere we could enjoy which had to be in a beautiful area with coastal walks on the doorstep and in walking distance to pubs, good food and the beach.

We found it it here in St Agnes with the added extra of a lovely village in walking distance with a mixture of tourists shops, galleries, green grocers, butchers, fish monger, and 2 late night opening convenience stores and more fantastic places to eat and drink.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The lodge was exceptionally comfortable and catered for all of our needs. There was a generous welcome pack on arrival, lovely crisp bedding and fluffy bathroom towels in abundance.

The property has been fitted out with high quality, tasteful furniture, fixtures and fittings. This made out stay a very comfortable one.

It was ideally located for husband and sons to take the short walk to the beach to surf each day, leaving me to make use of the sun loungers in a very quiet and peaceful surroundings or to mooch round the village gift shops.

There were great pubs with local ales, good restaurants and takeaways and sufficient village shops/small supermarkets which allowed us stay local. We made good use of the gas bbq buying good priced, succulent meats from the village butcher.

There is a lot to do and see in the area, but we chose to stay put, relax at the lodge and beach as it was a perfect place to unwind.

We had a great holiday and have booked again for summer 2015.

Modern, comfortable, well equiped and relaxing property on the lovely north Cornish coast

  • 5 of 5

Sea Whisper provided our family with a modern, well-sited property conveniently located between St Agnes town centre and Trevaunance Cove. We found that this location was ideal for local facilities and also for visiting a wide range of sites across west Cornwall. The property was comprehensively equiped with modern, quality appliances, furnishings and facilities. The nice decor immediately made us feel that we were 'by the sea'. Entertainment provided included a tv, radio, and, thoughtfully for children, a range of games. All this indicated to us great care in attention to detail by the owner and this contributed to making our stay comfortable, no matter whatever the weather.

The property is located on the slopes of a valley that extends from St Agnes to the local beach at Trevauance Cove. The road down to the beach is quite steep but manageable although it may well prove to be difficult with a pram or buggy. The beach itself is minimal at high tide but extensive at low tide so that a range of activities such as rock pooling, crabbing or just sand castle building is possible. For us, the provision of life-guards on the beach was welcome and very reassuring. Water quality was good and the beach was fine for swimming and body boarding or surfing. Near-beach facilities, if wanted, include a cafe and a very popular pub. We enjoyed the beach and also the cliff walks along the coastal path both to the south and to the north. The coastal scenery is impressive in its grandeur and there is also abundant evidence of the legacy of the metal mining industry.

We liked St Agnes very much. It retains a genuine coastal village atmosphere with attractive properties and is quite well provided with useful 'proper' shops in addition to the inevitable nick-nacky ones. Parking adjacent to shops is limited but there is a community car park within walking distance of the centre. Whilst we enjoyed the the local environment we also wanted to explore west Cornwall. We found St Agnes to be a good base for this as the Lizard, Mounts Bay, Camborne, Penzance and the west Penwith areas were all within reasonable travelling times along mostly good roads .

We stayed for a week. Our holiday was busy and yet there is much more to see and visit. This was our first time in this part of Cornwall. Would we return for another visit? Yes. We were highly impressed both by our holiday property and the area.

An attractive home with everything you need for a comfortable stay in Cornwall.

  • 4 of 5

After a very long journey it was such a pleasure to arrive at Sea Whisper. The parking was close by with just a short attractive walk to the property. Once inside we were able to admire the views across the valley and relax a while before setting out to explore the beautiful cove. The two young children loved the beach with the rock pools and rock climbing and also had the perk of being able to use their ipads - when allowed! The walk to St Agnes village had amazing views along the way and the village was tightly packed with interesting shops and galleries including a very friendly butcher, a bakery and a grocer shop. The whole area is very dog friendly from the property itself to the beach and the local shops and restaurants. Our dog enjoyed having her bed moved around the veranda to maximise her sunbathing and we were lucky enough with the weather to able to have BBQ 's and use the comfortable outside eating area. The property is very well equipped, plenty of hot water, light and secure and quite spacious in the living areas. I would certainly recommend the property to anyone visiting Cornwall.
