North Facing Modern Two Bedroom House Located Directly On the Beachfront

This north facing two bedroom, beachfront house is located directly on the sands of Maenam Beach, on the north coast of Koh Samui. It is of a modern L-shaped design with a total area of 86 square metres with every room commanding amazing views across the ocean to neighboring Koh Phangnan.

Bedroom 1 (14.5 SqM.) has a Queen size bed, bed side tables & lighting, wardrobe, arm chair and 2 large picture windows with a view second to none. There is a modern ensuite bathroom (5.5 SqM.), with rain shower.

Bedroom 2 (14.5SqM) has two single beds, which can also be pushed together to form a double, which also face a large picture window with the same stunning views. There is also adequate wardrobe space, bed side table & lighting and arm chair.

The open plan living / dining / kitchen area (28SqM.), has two double sofas, which face the large glass doors, looking out over the patio to the same amazing views. There is also a flat screen TV with international channels, DVD player and sound system, just in case you should get bored with the view. The kitchen is self contained with all the appliances you may require, including a large fridge, gas hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and all cutlery, crockery & glassware. There is also a dining and chairs for four persons. The whole house is air conditioned, but should you prefer all the windows open so that you can enjoy the wonderful fresh sea breeze. There is also a guest bathroom (5SqM.)accessed from the living area.

Out on the large balcony (18.5SqM.) there is another dining table so you can eat breakfast watching the sun rise, soak up the sun during the day or enjoy watching the spectacular sunset with your favorite cocktail.

Just four steps down from the patio and you are on the sands of Maenam Beach, just a few more steps and you are in the warm waters of the Gulf of Thailand and all the enjoyment that has to offer. Kiteboarding, sailing, wakeboarding, waterskiing, stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing and Thai massage are all available within just a matter of a short walk, as are a host of terrific restaurants and bars, serving Thai food, seafood and other cuisines from around the world. Just 5 minutes walk away is Maenam village, which has shops and restaurants of all types, with convenience stores open 24 hours.

The house will be cleaned for you every 4 days with a change of bed linen & towels. A small welcome pack will be provided consisting of drinking water, soft drinks & some fruit.

There is Wi-Fi coverage throughout the house.

The Moonrakers were recently built and the views from each room are incredible. The view from the living room is especially nice. Having the living area between the two bedrooms allowed privacy for each family. All the beds were very, very comfortable. (The twin beds were seamlessly joined together for us, making a large bed.) Both bedrooms have plenty of storage and all the rooms are attractively decorated. The kitchen is equipped for four people, however, there is no need for a lot of cooking since there are three very reasonably priced good restaurants within a short walk along the beach. We loved walking barefoot down the beach to one of the three open-air restaurants for lunch and dinner. Two of the restaurants offer dining directly on the sand. The Moonraker owner was extremely helpful and we saw him most every day since he lives nearby. He quickly responded to all our emails from beginning to end and made certain we arrived from the airport without a problem even though our flight was delayed. I suggest you let him line up transportation from the airport for you. The price was very reasonable. The owner will be happy to answer any questions you have, make suggestions, arrange transportation, etc. for you. (The business owners all know each other and seem to work together to make the visitors' stay a good one.) If you plan to do any snorkeling/diving, the dive shops all seem to know where the Moonhut is and will pick you up from there. Massages are a must in Thailand and two massage areas are just steps from the Moonraker. Our favorite massage place was at the Moonhut up under the palm trees, but the massages next to the Nature Bar were good as well. Mini-markets, a fruit stand, Angela’s for breakfast/lunch and laundry businesses are a short 10-15 minute walk away and can be reached via two paths. The path behind Moonhut is more scenic and along that path was where we had our laundry done. Early mornings were great for walking along the beach and watching the locals fish. Maenam Beach is a good swimming beach and doesn’t have the rocks that can be found on other beaches on the island. The beach is sloped but walk-able and some people used it for their morning jogs despite the slope. The beach at Moonraker isn’t noisy or highly populated, which suited us well. There were enough friendly visitors to converse with, but not so many that you had to share your beach time with them. It was a perfect two weeks. Thank you, Alastair!

There are many attractions very close to the Moonrakers. First of all as we are located right on the beach, there are many watersports available all within a few hundred metres. You can choose from Hobie cat sailing, wakeboarding, waterskiing, kayaking, wind surfing and stand up paddleboarding, There is also a kite boarding school right next door and private boat charter for snorkeling & sightseeing trips around Koh Samui and the surrounding islands. The nearest dive shop is in the town just about 10 minutes walk away. There is also a daily ferry service to Koh Phangnan just 15 minutes walk away along the beach.

For land based activities, Samui Quads is just a short drive away. They offer guided quad bike tours, taking you off the beaten track up into the hills behind Maenam where you can enjoy amazing views and even a swim at a waterfall. There is also a zip lining company in the same area if you are looking for an adrenalin rush.

Mountain biking is very popular around the Maenam hills & bicycles can be rented locally.

There are a huge range of restaurants and bars to choose from in Maenam, including many which located right on the beach and only a short walk away from your front door. Of course most serve Thai & seafood, but there are also several Italian, Japaneese, Indian , French & also Turkish. For shopping, Maenam has nearly all you could want for day to day supplies, the fresh market is well worth a visit but it does start very early in the morning and is normally finished by 11.00am.

Nightlife is limited in Maenam as it is a quiet area and is still mainly inhabited by Thai families, however there are a few bars that stay open later if you fancy a night cap.

Just 10 minutes drive away is Fisherman's village, which also has a wide & varied range of restaurants & shopping and also it's famous walking street, held every Friday night.

Chaweng is a 15 minute drive away and has almost every possible type of bar & restaurant you can think of, it is also the main nightlife area with bars & clubs staying open until the early hours of the morning. There is also the Central Festival shopping Mall, which has a full range of shops selling clothes, electrical goods & souvenirs from top brands.

If cancelled 60 days prior to check in, the deposit is partially refundable, 10% administration fee will be deducted.

Security Deposit.
A security deposit of 10000THB must be paid in cash on check in. The deposit will be returned to you when you check out less the cost of any damage or breakages. Details of costs are available in the villa which you can review when you arrive.

Maid Service
Your villa will be cleaned for you every fourth day, with a complete change of towels & linen. Should you require the maid & laundry service more often, this can be arranged at a cost of 1200Baht per time.

Check In / Check Out Time

Check in time is 2.00PM, earlier check in is available on request, but is subject to availability
Check out time is 11.00am, late check out is available on request, but is also subject to availability.

50% deposit is payable at the time of booking to secure your reservation, the remaining balance must be paid a minimum of 30 days prior to arrival. Payments can be made by Credit card (Visa or MasterCard), PayPal or bank transfer.
