Stunning Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Cottage was cozy, comfortable and super clean. Appreciated the Welcome Pack, a very nice touch. Perfect place to relax by a log fire. Plenty of amenities in the cottage, owners have thought of everything to make your stay special.

Great attention to detail to ensure you had a home from home, nice homely cottage in quiet location.

Spent a few days at Nant Melyn in February, we enjoyed both the area and staying at the cottage. We visited castles, beach and waterfall, all within easy reach, as were supermarkets and places to eat out if we had wanted to. We travelled from Wiltshire and found South Wales an easier commute than Cornwall with the M4 taking us most of the way.

Restful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I, along with our dog stayed at Nant Melyn from Monday 14th November for a week. On first entering Nant Melyn to our departure the following week we enjoyed everything about this lovely cottage. The vase of flowers, bottle of wine, welsh cakes, bottles of water and treats for the dog was a lovely touch. We visited The Black Mountain Centre which is a five minute walk from the cottage and was greeted by two very pleasant members of staff who were very helpful with suggestions of where we should walk. Llanelli Discovery walk, Rhossili beach, Craig y nos country park, Water falls at Coelbren and The black mountains plus a couple of walks from the cottage were all enjoyable and dog friendly. One of our nights we paid a visit to Brynamman cinema, definitely worth a visit. We also had a meal at Tregib arms. Every other evening we were very happy to stay in enjoying a glass of wine next to the log fire. The bathroom was lovely, it has a bath with a separate shower cubicle. After a day out walking a bath was very welcome. Also another lovely touch was the toiletries that was there if needed. We also booked Michelle for a massage each, which was a great way to relax and de 'stress. Nant Melyn is very clean and equipped with all that you need. Can not find any faults.. Just perfect. Luxurious even.

Delightful cottage, warm and cosy. In a great spot for walking

  • 4 of 5

The village was very friendly and we met some great characters in a short space of time. Ideally situated for visits to other locations, the beach or hiking the dramatic moorland.

The cottage was well presented and had all we needed. The dogs were made welcome and the added bonus of a wood burner took the edge off the late evening chill..

A definite for return!

Peaceful, clean and a perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is absolutely lovely, we had a great time. The personal touches were great, such as the bottle of wine, the doggy treats and cute little pawprint blanket that our two loved! The kitchen is well equipped, and the bed was comfortable. The highlight of this cottage has to be the bathroom! A decent sized bath that you can actually lie down in and relax, and seeing as my fiance is 6' 1", he was extremely happy about this! And the shower is amazing! After a full day out exploring it's great to get into a nice hot shower that is powerful to ease your muscles. The garden is delightful, we had such nice weather that we had our lunch out there a couple of times, and the sun is shining on it for most of the day (which was great for drying out our walking boots!)

In the living room there is a good selection of DVDs and board games- we enjoyed a game of Scrabble (even though our wedding was nearly off after the end haha!) and a game of Jenga that the dogs had to get involved with as well!

The area around the cottage is great for walking and exploring. If you go up the lane and up the hill, you get to an amazing area of open fields. Once you've gone through the gate, turn right and you get to a little bridge over a stream and then you can walk for ages (definitely recommended for those who are visiting with dogs!)

If you have a car, we recommend visiting the showcaves (which allow dogs), and the Ape and Monkey Sanctuary! Near to the Sanctuary there is also a great trail where you can see a fantastic waterfall that you can go behind! All of this signposted and each are about a 20 minute drive away.

There is also a Tesco about a ten minute drive away which is good if you haven't got a lot of space in your car to bring all your food for your holiday.

All in all, we had a great time away which was made even better with staying at this amazing and cosy cottage. I've already recommended it to two of my family members who are hoping to book it!

Thank you to Steve & everyone for making our stay so wonderful!

Stacey, Lewis, Colin and Scrappy x
