Delightful cottage, warm and cosy. In a great spot for walking

  • 4 of 5

The village was very friendly and we met some great characters in a short space of time. Ideally situated for visits to other locations, the beach or hiking the dramatic moorland.

The cottage was well presented and had all we needed. The dogs were made welcome and the added bonus of a wood burner took the edge off the late evening chill..

A definite for return!

Peaceful, clean and a perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is absolutely lovely, we had a great time. The personal touches were great, such as the bottle of wine, the doggy treats and cute little pawprint blanket that our two loved! The kitchen is well equipped, and the bed was comfortable. The highlight of this cottage has to be the bathroom! A decent sized bath that you can actually lie down in and relax, and seeing as my fiance is 6' 1", he was extremely happy about this! And the shower is amazing! After a full day out exploring it's great to get into a nice hot shower that is powerful to ease your muscles. The garden is delightful, we had such nice weather that we had our lunch out there a couple of times, and the sun is shining on it for most of the day (which was great for drying out our walking boots!)

In the living room there is a good selection of DVDs and board games- we enjoyed a game of Scrabble (even though our wedding was nearly off after the end haha!) and a game of Jenga that the dogs had to get involved with as well!

The area around the cottage is great for walking and exploring. If you go up the lane and up the hill, you get to an amazing area of open fields. Once you've gone through the gate, turn right and you get to a little bridge over a stream and then you can walk for ages (definitely recommended for those who are visiting with dogs!)

If you have a car, we recommend visiting the showcaves (which allow dogs), and the Ape and Monkey Sanctuary! Near to the Sanctuary there is also a great trail where you can see a fantastic waterfall that you can go behind! All of this signposted and each are about a 20 minute drive away.

There is also a Tesco about a ten minute drive away which is good if you haven't got a lot of space in your car to bring all your food for your holiday.

All in all, we had a great time away which was made even better with staying at this amazing and cosy cottage. I've already recommended it to two of my family members who are hoping to book it!

Thank you to Steve & everyone for making our stay so wonderful!

Stacey, Lewis, Colin and Scrappy x

Fantastic cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Spent 4 nights at Nant Melyn with 2 9yr olds and dog looking for a peaceful break at the end of the school summer holidays we were not disappointed! All our needs were catered for even our doggie was welcomed with a bone, bowl and blanket! Kids loved the collection of games and DVDs kept them occupied and happy during the evenings. For us adults a welcome bottle of wine and fresh flowers. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the bathroom was especially lovely excellent shower. Added bonus of having a dishwasher always makes meal times a lot easier. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need and the just incase wine/spirits with honesty box payment wasn't needed but we thought was a great little touch. The owner Steve was great with correspondence all questions were answered almost immediately. We will definitely be returning customers great location in beautiful countryside and excellent value for money we will be sure to recommend to family and friends. We ventured out to the gower coast well worth the visit lovely beaches which we were lucky enough to enjoy with some sunshine and for the kids we headed into Swansea for trampolining and water park fun only 35-40 mins away. Keep up the good work Nant Melyn team!!!

The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed including a lovely bottle of wine and some biscuits! The area is beautiful and has some very good hiking paths. Thanks for the comfortable stay.

Perfect stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely stay in this well kept, clean comfortable cottage. Although small it was perfect for our needs. On arrival fresh flowers and a good bottle of wine were waiting. The cottage is a short distance to the Brecons and is easy access to the town of Brecon over the mountain roads. Perfect location for cycling and walking. We loved our stay and would definitely return to the area.

Formidable

  • 5 of 5
