Overview

Property

Updated: 28-Nov-2016
Sleeps 2. 1 Bedroom. 1 Bathroom.

The accomodation consists of an Exclusive ground floor apartment within a beautifuliy restored French Chateau. Set in a quiet peaceful rural location, on the borders of the Gers, Hautes Pyrenees and Hautes Garonne Departments. Surrounded by woodland and fields of corn and sunflowers during the summer months, a beautiful river flows through the garden.

There is a large double bedroom with antique 4 post bed and sitting area, adjacent bathroom with bath tub and wetroom shower and toilet, there is also a seperate adjoining room with loo. The main living room is tastefully decorated, has original feature fireplace with woodburner and has a large comfy sofa, and a small desk for those who cant leave work behind them. There is free wi-fi at the property inside and out. The apartment has a large dining area with marble table, as well as a fully equiped kitchen area with wine stocked fridge, and dishwasher as well as oven and hob. A car is a necessity as the location is in the countryside, there is a small village restaurant about 5 minutes drive away, and others about 10 minutes drive away. There is a small shop within walking distance (30 minutes) alhough its a 2 minute drive, which you may prefer, and a larger village with epicerie, pharmacie & boulangerie 5 minutes away. Many people come to the area to cylce the tour de France mountain routes, although not for the faint hearted! If you like the idea of a Pilgrimage Lourdes is about an hour away, and there are many mountain walk ways, to keep you fit. Or you may want to stay at the chateau by the pool.

During the winter there are 3 Ski Resorts within an hours drive.

There is a small adjoining bedroom to the master bedroom which would accomodate a child, Please contact us to arrange this.

Breath Taking!

We had the opportunity to stay at Chateau du Haget for a week - and to be honest it was the best experience we had during our month of travels! The photos do not do the property justice - you really need to see it to believe it! Absolutely stunning grounds, peaceful surroundings, and a beautifully decorated apartment. If you are looking for relaxation and hoping to get away from the hustle and bustle of the cities - this is certainly the place to do it. Majority of our time was spent sitting by the pool, playing snooker, reading a book, drinking wine, and munching on cheese and baguettes. We love animals - and thoroughly enjoyed the occasional visit from the sheep, cats, dog, and even the peacock as they roam around the grounds. If you enjoy history you will be amazed that the Chateau goes as far back as the 13th century. It is situated in the countryside, so a vehicle is a must - but small towns are not a far drive and there are often festivals you can visit. Ali and Mike, the owners, are so accommodating and are some of the most amazing people we've ever met. They have the best taste in decor and certainly have an eye for art ;) . We genuinely enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to anyone! It is absolutely worth the visit!
