11 Harbourside is a lovely one bedroom self catering holiday apartment occupying what must be the finest position in West Looe standing high on the curve of the river with outstanding views of Looe Harbour, the Banjo pier, the beach and out to sea. Having such stunning views means that you can enjoy staying in the flat at any time of the year. On and off-season Looe has plenty to offer.

The flat is perfect for a couple: 1 double bedroom, a well fitted kitchen and a delightful sitting/dining room which has French doors leading to a Juliet balcony from where you can enjoy the stunning uninterrupted river and sea views of Looe.

There is a well-appointed bathroom and the apartment benefits from gas central heating. Free wi-fi is also included. (Please click on more details below to read on)

There is no direct parking space with the flat, but there is a drop off point when you arrive and leave the flat with your luggage, and there is plenty of free parking less than 10 minutes walk away. We have never had any problem finding a parking space. If you prefer, pay parking is available at a similar distance.

The front entrance to the flat does have a number of stairs (although there is a lift). However, the extra height gained is worth it! There is also a very accessible back entrance leading onto a tarmacked footpath that to the right leads down a short steep slope into the centre of West Looe where there are several shops and cafes, and a grocery shop and delicatessen. To the left out of the building a very much gentler path leads into a quiet road to take you to where there is free parking on the roadside.

The centre of West Looe with its delightful harbour, shops, restaurants, and quaint olde pubs including the "Jolly Sailor Inn" reputedly the oldest in Looe are only a two minute walk with busier East Looe, accessible during the season by passenger ferry or by a charming ten minute walk via historic Looe bridge. East Looe offers the visitor a host of pubs, restaurants and shops, as well as the local sandy beach and boat trips.

Walking west from the flat you will see Looe Island opposite the sea front and small beach area. There is also a characterful seaside café next to tennis courts. Going further west will take you onto the lovely coastal path to Polperro via Talland where there is also a beach café.

Harbourside was converted from the former Bodrigan Hotel in 2005 into 12 luxury apartments each with their own private entrance with number 11 being a penthouse/loft apartment.

As much as we love children, the flat is not recommended for very young children due to the balcony.

Please note that the flat is strictly for non smoking guests only. And sorry no pets

We do also have two single sit on Kayaks available in West Looe (one Ocean Frenzy and one Feel Free Nomad). We are happy to let guests use these at their own risk for fee of £75 per week plus a security deposit. Please do ask for further details if you are interested.

Finally, if you want a car free holiday, Looe has the benefit of a branch line train service connecting with the main line to London from Liskeard. This operates all year round.

Hi, we both live in Devon about an hour away from Looe, and have been in the West Country now for over 16 years. We love the area - both Devon and Cornwall. In Cornwall we particularly like the South Coast of Cornwall which can be quieter and less commercialised than the North Coast with its sometimes crowded surfing beaches. The South coast has the benefit of coves, and estuaries, as well as some stunning towns and villages. If you are visiting Cornwall for the first time, do ask us for suggestions of nice places to go. Why Mark and Sally chose South East Cornwall

The holiday flat is a new venture for us, having just acquired it. We simply love the position and the views. West and East Looe have plenty to offer and are really characterful. Whilst bringing a car is great for getting out and about in the region, you could also consider a car free holiday here as you can get to Looe by train! Once in Looe there are plenty of local walks, and of course you can get to places like Falmouth, Truro, St Ives, or Newquay on the train from Looe. And kayaking is a must if you love the water!

Two kayaks are available for guests to use for a weekly fee - please ask for further details if you are interested. This is a great way to explore the estuary.

We had a lovely week and the flat was spot on . Great views and very quiet suited us very well - the hill even helped us justify eating so much !

We were lucky enough to take advantage of a cancellation at the Squid Ink on the saturday . Great food & service though they are only open Saturday & Sunday and booked weeks in advance.Trawlers on the Quay also very good and a lovely sunny spot for a glass of wine late afternoon . Mama Js - with a wood fired Pizza oven - decor plastic but simple food done well and relatively inexpensive .

Catchers good , wouldn't bother with The Sail Loft .

Getting the ferry across the river to buy fresh fish was a highlight .

Excellent property with great views

Nice apartment. Use of lift. Great views from the patio doors and the apartment had everything thing needed. Will definitely come back. Car parked about 10 mind away which wasn't a problem at all.

looe appartment

Great apartment with stunning views across the harbour. Parking was free at the top of the road but had to be careful of the blind bend you need to cross to get to the apartment. Everything was clean and comfortable enjoyed the stay very much and had great weather for October. Would recommend the Ship Inn to have a pint and food( but not The Golden Guinea). Cant wait till we go back.

Such a view

Perfect location for coast path and the vast array of cakes shops in Looe. Property does have wonderful views and it is lovely to sit and watch the comings and goings of the boats. There are some shortcomings however. There aren't enough lights, only one lamp in the bedroom which we had to use in the lounge unless you want main light on. The kitchen lights weren't working either when we stayed and although we did contact owner these were not repaired. I also sent email prior to visit regarding directions but this was not answered either. It is difficult to find as name of property is hidden. No teapot and and no milk left on day of arrival. A few niggles but these shouldn't put you off as it is a perfectly sized apartment for two in quiet, peaceful location with such a great view. They do sell the biggest cakes ever in Looe too and shouldn't be missed.

Owner's Response: I am glad you loved the views which are amazing. We do apologise again that your stay coincided with a problem with the spot lights in the kitchen. Unfortunately it is not always easy to get an immediate appointment from an electrician and there was a short delay in getting these fixed. Everything is now working I am pleased to say. We do always respond to emails from guests so do apologise if somehow a reply was not received when you sent a message. We try to describe exactly where the property is. Thank you again for your comments which will of course will be taken on board to make sure everything is as good as it can be for future guests.

Lovely apartment and ideal base to explore a beautiful part of Cornwall

The apartment has everything a couple would need for a relaxing break wanting to explore the area. As mentioned in other reviews it is on a steep slope in West Looe and being on the second floor has a couple of flights of stairs to it - so won't suit anyone with limited mobility. The only other thing to bear in mind is that the flat does not have its own parking and on road parking is a 5 to10 minute walk away.

In every other aspect the apartment is ideal with stunning views from the balcony across the river to East Looe as well as along the coast to Rame Head - a wonderful back drop when having breakfast with the balcony doors open. Looe offers all the amenities you'd need and is an ideal base to explore this beautiful part of Cornwall.
