Situated on the border of Northumberland National Park, Homildon is an extremely attractive traditional cottage dating back to the early 1800's. Nestled in a secluded hollow, it provides a sense of isolation while still being within easy reach of local amenities.

The large rear garden offers a peaceful haven looking out onto historic Homildon Hill. The current owners use the property regularly as a retreat, and have updated the facilities to meet the expectations of today's holiday makers.

The fully fitted kitchen is the cosy heart of the house and is well equipped, with brand name cookware. Its large farmhouse table provides good seating for everyone, and the cherry red AGA makes for a homely space in which to relax and gather with family or friends after a busy day. Additionally there is a utility room with hanging space and bootrack.

The comfy sitting room with vaulted ceiling and vintage wood burning stove has a large flat screen TV, Blu-Ray DVD and plenty of board games! The neighbouring conservatory doubles as a light, bright and airy second dining space.

A short staircase off the kitchen leads to a hallway that gives way to a master bedroom with en-suite shower room, a further double and twin bedrooms and a study/quiet room. A family bathroom (bath with shower over), is newly refurbished to the highest standard. A fourth bedroom, up a short staircase above the kitchen, is a striking beamed attic room with a feature flue and a view over the neighbouring fields.

Externally, Homildon's mature garden is mainly laid to lawn with herbaceous borders. This and the neighbouring wooded wetland attract a wealth of birds and wildlife to your door. The house lies out of sight at the end of a short dead-end track leading from the cluster of cottages of High Humbleton ensuring the only passing traffic is the occasional walker or farmer. The Northumberland National Park is less than a minute's walk away with St Cuthberts Way within 1km. A converted stable makes the perfect space to store any outdoor gear, as well as doubling as a games room with a multi-game table. A decked alfresco dining area provides expansive views over Homildon Hill – the perfect place for a summer lunch or evening drink. there is even a small summerhouse gazebo to provide welcome shade.

Included in the price is all bedding, bed linen, towels and electricity, oil for central heating and hot water and the AGA, logs for the log burner, travel cot, high chair, Wi-fi with 10–15Mbps broadband, DAB & CD music system with USB/bluetooth. In addition to the Aga there is an electric cooker and hob, fridge freezer, second fridge, dishwasher, microwave, toaster & kettle, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Selection of local maps, walking guides, novels, local history and cook books, CDs, DVDs and indoor games.

All bedrooms have ample hanging space, drawers and storage

In the stable: games table, secure storage space for cycles & other leisure gear.

Outside decked area with quality table and furniture for alfresco dining

Well behaved dogs are welcome at an additional £20 per dog per week (max 2 medium/large, 3 small)

Please note that the garden whilst for the most part is fenced with agricultural stock wiring, is not fully secure and there is an unfenced pond and wildlife area adjacent to the property (not part of Homildon's land).

The adjacent fields often have livestock in them and you are asked to observe the Country Code in particular the guidance on dogs, children and livestock.

Homildon uses a septic tank – please read and adhere to instructions at the property regarding waste/foul water.

The property is fully non-smoking including the stable/games room.

A good housekeeping bond of £150 is required to be lodged during your stay.
