We had a super week at La Marronier. The house was just right for the two of us, plenty of space, lovely furnishings, great bed and ensuite - heated towel rail excellent in the chilly mornings. The kitchen was very well appointed with everything we needed for a week self catering. With the weather very unsettled, we appreciated being able to get UK TV...! The heating was efficient, together with loads of logs on the wood burner, we kept snug and warm. The patio/garden area is small, but pretty with roses & clematis all along the cottage wall. The area is excellent for d day landing beaches and other interesting places which is what we did during the week. Supermarkets - plenty of choice in Carentan, a 10 min drive. Very accessible cottage in a lovely quiet area. We were grateful that the owner, Steve had provided a brand new small BBQ for us, together with a huge bag of charcoal! He was friendly and informative, but not intrusive, but it was nice knowing we had support if there were any problems. Next time we are in the area we wouldn't look further than to book La Marronier again and would definitely recommend it to family & friends. Maureen & Pete

In rural area, peaceful and near to villages and historical sites. Rosemary and Steve provided booklets and maps for the area. Very comfortable with all mod coms. Definitely would recommend and give this a Michelin 5 star.
The cottage is to a very high standard. Elegant throughout. You feel instantly relaxed.
We stayed here for just 3 nights to watch a stage of the Tour de France.
Steve and Rosemary were so nice, very friendly nothing too much trouble and interesting to chat to.
The property has been renovated beautifully, comfortable all you could need - cooker, microwave, fridge, coffeemaker but most importantly corkscrew ! Lounge was lovely and comfortable, nice seating outside when the side decided to join us! was almost a shame to go out !!
Surrounding area is also lovely, the Tour was incredible quite a spectacle. Saint Marie du Mont has some very nice cafe / restaurants to chill out in.
The whole are is ideal for both the DDay memorials but also to simply chill out and relax.
Would we recommend to anyone else?
We certainly plan to return
The cottage is very comfortable and is fitted out to a high standard, with everything you could want for your stay.It is located in a quiet location but is well placed for the D Day museums and historic locations.
Rosemary and Steve are attentive hosts;it is reassuring to have them close by should a problem arise, but still giving you your own space. We can't wait to stay al Le Marronier again!
