Our property consists of the following:

Perpignan Apartment

Bedroom: This is fitted with a comfortable double bed, built-in wardrobes and has a large balcony for breakfasts in the sun.

Parking: On street safe parking is available in this area.

Ideal for business or pleasure breaks, you will find our apartment combines high quality furnishings and fittings with comfortable simplicity; just the thing for the perfect home-from-home stay.

Just a few minute’s walk to the cafés and shops and the heart of medieval Perpignan - a lively and historic city, dating from the 13th and 14th centuries it has a distinct Spanish flavour; where the Kings of Majorca once held court.

You’ll find many ancient attractions including ‘Le Castillet’, a 14th century gateway and part of the old city walls, now housing the Casa Pairal Museum; the Cathedrale St-jean with its elaborate interior and the Palais de Rois de Majorque, the royal palace of King James II.

The cobbled, pedestrianised area is buzzing with cafes, brasseries, chic boutiques and chocolatiers. The market in the Place de la Republique is one of many places selling local produce and wines at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended for experiencing a slice of French life.

Well situated for both the Mediterranean coast and the Pyrenees - the apartment is only a 5 minute walk from the local train/bus station and BIP bike hire routes, making it an excellent base to explore the coastal resorts and mountain regions all year round.

Pay a visit to the quaint fishing port and Fauvist centre of Collioure, dominated by the Chateau Royal. Within an hour you could be lunching at a quayside restaurant (the town is famous for anchovies) or buying a painting from one of the resident artists. Not to be missed is the Fort de Salses an impressive and well preserved 15th century Catalan stronghold, only 30 minutes from Perpignan. Explore the smaller villages of Ceret and Castlenou nestled in the Eastern Pyrenees or drive the Banyuls ‘cornice’ across the Spanish border for extraordinary coastline and amazing views; just a few ideas to whet your appetite!

An excellent base for visiting the region

  • 4 of 5

As we were arriving at the station quite late in the evening, Stewart kindly met us and drove us to the apartment. He made it clear that he and Kate were available at any time to answer any questions we might have during our stay. We found the apartment to be quite spacious, bright, comfortable and clean. We felt that we were living in the real France as the apartment is in a normal residential block with plenty of everyday noise from children, interesting cooking smells etc. We found Perpignan to be an excellent place to stay as it is the hub for the local very cheap public transport system. We made good use of the 1 euro bus service for trips to Collioure, Céret and Argelès. We also enjoyed visiting the Palais de Rois de Majorque in Perpignan. Each day we returned happily to the apartment and relaxed with the air con cooling us. We then made our way into town to eat - it is a pleasant walk into the centre and there are many good restaurants. So all in all, a very pleasant stay and many thanks to Stewart and Kate.

Exactly what it says on the tin..

  • 5 of 5

Stuart met us at the property exactly on time as prearranged we were impressed by his manner and matter of fact introduction to the apartment so that we could see immediately that it was exactly as advertised. We really did become to feel that staying there became a home from home experience. Perpignan itself is an amazing place and with the 1 euro facility to travel by bus or train to so many far reaching places of interest this makes for an astounding experience.

The apartment was scrupulously clean comfortable and well equipped and as you may have gathered perfectly placed. Our one week stay was made all the more leisurely by being able to park our hire car in the street and pay the 2 euros parking charge each day and then forget about it. We did not need to use the car even once..parfait.

We had driven to Perpignan from Girona in Spain via hire car but the next time we stay we will probably fly to Perpignan and just make use of the incredible bus and rail system.

Quite apart from our brilliant stay in Stuart and Kate's apartment they were both magnificent in springing to our aid at the moment of our greatest need. Our second week was up in the mountains where we unfortunately experienced the exact opposite with regards to our accommodation and needed to find alternative accommodation. Stuart using his contacts pulled out all of the stops and found us the most amazing one off place to stay. Stuart and Kate really do far more than what it says on the tin. Annie and I will be eternally in their gratitude for going those extra miles to make sure that our two weeks in France were par excellence.

Thanks to you both

Gerard and Annie

Perfection in Perpignan

  • 5 of 5

Apartment conveniently position close rail station, bus stops and shops. layout and equipment level in the apartment is very good. Using public transport worked out very well, the 1 euro buses and local trains to a variety of towns situated around Perpignan. Such as "The yellow train", Collure and of course the historical building and history of the city it's self.is very interesting. Would recommend this apartment if you are plannig a trip to Perpignan. We traveled by Ryanair to Gerona and than caught a train.

Wonderful holiday in beautiful Perpignan apartment

  • 5 of 5

Very clean, well maintained and spacious apartment in the centre of Perpignan. All amenities are on your doorstep with plenty of good restaurants to choose from. There are many good beaches very close by and, if you fancied, a train station is nearby if you wanted a day out to Barcelona. Very pleasant owners who were always available should you need them. I would definitely recommend this apartment and will be definitely be coming back.
