About the property

2 bedroom, 1 bathroom with river views

This former watermill has been sympathetically converted into three recently updated comfortable self - contained gites offering home from home accommodation ideally located for your self catering holiday in the Pyrenees.

Standing in 4 acres of meadows clothed with wild orchids in Spring, colourful butterflies and soaring buzzards, bordered by a tranquil stream known as the babbling brook which is ideal for paddling on a hot summers day.

Le Moulinet occupies the lower floor of the mill overlooking the tumbling stream and peaceful countryside beyond. A walled private sheltered terrace provides a charming entrance to our recently renovated cottage

Le Moulinet possesses a comfortable sitting room complete with a wood-burning stove, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom consisting of shower, wc and washbasin.

There is one double, one bunk bed and one single bedroom.

Our small, family-run gite complex is peacefully situated within a picturesque valley in the lower Fenouilledes foothills of the Pyrenees standing midway between two small villages, Le Vivier and Fosse.

Moulin de Perle is situated midway between two small villages. A plan d'eau, mini golf and tennis court are located in Le Vivier only 10 minutes walk and the quaint village of Fosse with its free open air swimming pool (summer only) and tennis court is 5 minutes walking distance in the opposite direction. Several bars/restaurants providing anything from a quick snack to a gourmet meal, a general store, bakery, butcher and tabac are located in Caudies 10 minutes drive and the larger village of St Paul 20 minutes drive offers several restaurants, banks, petrol stations, bakery, butcher, tabac and a medium sized Carrefour supermarket.

Within an hour you can visit the thermal baths at Rennes les Bains an example of the Roman architectural finesse. Climb one of the largest Cathar castles - Peyrepetuse for incredible views of the region. Descend the Gorge de Galamus at St Paul to Ermitage de St Antoine built into the rock side and swim in the beautiful plunge pools below. Admire Mount Canigou the sacred mountain of Catalan people that dominates the Eastern Pyrenees. Visit the larger town of Perpignan with its museums, cathedrals and extensive shopping areas or spend the day at one of the Mediterranean Beaches/Coves for a day lazing in the sun to name just a few.

Whether you simply like to laze in the sun, potter around discovering the outstanding mountainous scenery and pretty villages, or prefer to be more active and adventurous you will find Moulin De Perle Pyrenees Gites an ideal location for your holiday.

Great holiday home in a beautiful region

  • 5 of 5

We’ ve been for a week in Moulin de Perle and really enjoyed our stay. The owners gave us a warm welcome and were very helpful and friendly throughout the whole holiday, recommending the best spots in the area.

Le Moulinet is a very clean and nice apartment located in a former watermill. It has a wonderful terrace directly in front of the kitchen, perfectly made for having dinner outside. The kitchen is very well equipped, there is a nice and cozy living room and two bedrooms. It’s absolutely recommendable for a vacation with children as well. Our son loved to play at the river flowing by directly beside the property and really enjoyed the time we spent on the property.

Moulin de Perle is located in such a lovely, peaceful and beautiful area. There is also a lot to do in the region. We enjoyed strolling through the regional markets, made our way up to the Cathar castle Peyrepertuse where we had an amazing view, went for a daytrip to the medieval city of Carcassonne. The highlight of the week was definitely white water rafting on the river Aude!
