Overview

About the property

This former watermill has been sympathetically converted into three recently updated comfortable self - contained gites offering home from home accommodation ideally located for your self catering holiday in the Pyrenees.

Standing in 4 acres of meadows clothed with wild orchids in Spring, colourful butterflies and soaring buzzards, bordered by a tranquil stream known as the babbling brook which is ideal for paddling on a hot summers day.

La Terrasse is a freshly decorated, self-contained studio with all modern conveniences, designed for couples, in its own setting in the grounds overlooking the Pyrenean foothills with a sunny southerly aspect.

La Terrace offers a large living space with fully equipped kitchen area, comfortable seating and dining area. A comfortable pull down double bed for ease and space offers a perfect night's sleep. The modern bathroom consists of a shower, wc, washbasin and towel rail.

Our small, family-run gite complex is peacefully situated within a picturesque valley in the lower Fenouilledes foothills of the Pyrenees standing midway between two small villages, Le Vivier and Fosse.

Moulin de Perle is situated midway between two small villages. A plan d'eau, mini golf and tennis court are located in Le Vivier only 10 minutes walk and the quaint village of Fosse with its free open air swimming pool (summer only) and tennis court is 5 minutes walking distance in the opposite direction. Several bars/restaurants providing anything from a quick snack to a gourmet meal, a general store, bakery, butcher and tabac are located in Caudies 10 minutes drive and the larger village of St Paul 20 minutes drive offers several restaurants, banks, petrol stations, bakery, butcher, tabac and a medium sized Champion supermarket.

Within an hour you can visit the thermal baths at Rennes les Bains an example of the Roman architectural finesse. Climb one of the largest Cathar castles - Peyrepetuse for incredible views of the region. Descend the Gorge de Galamus at St Paul to Ermitage de St Antoine built into the rock side and swim in the beautiful plunge pools below. Admire Mount Canigou the sacred mountain of Catalan people that dominates the Eastern Pyrenees. Visit the larger town of Perpignan with its museums, cathedrals and extensive shopping areas or spend the day at one of the Mediterranean Beaches/Coves for a day lazing in the sun to name just a few.

Whether you simply like to laze in the sun, potter around discovering the outstanding mountainous scenery and pretty villages, or prefer to be more active and adventurous you will find Moulin De Perle Pyrenees Gites an ideal location for your holiday.

We enjoyed staying at your studio.

  • 3 of 5

The studio was nice and comfortable, the bed comfortable and the covers were warm, the shower very small. It was clean except for the kitchen drawers. We cleaned everything we needed, and kept it out of the drawers while we were there.

What we really missed was the possibility to heat the place. The temperature was rather low at night, and we had difficulties keeping warm in the evenings. The area is extremely beautiful and sparsely populated., 30 minutes drive to the supermarket and 20 minutes to a bakery.

The owners were very kind.

Perfect place of retreat

  • 5 of 5

This charming little stone house is a perfect retreat for those who want to escape for a while from a busy and loud city life. It is exactly as described and lacks nothing needed for a nice vacation. The owners even prepared a fantastic fish pie to be warmed up for the evening of our arrival. Absolutely to be recommended to people who look for some time of tranquillity with the possibility to do hiking, walking or motorcycle tours.

Short and lovely Holiday

  • 5 of 5

From the first Moment my Husband and myself felt really welcome. Warm hearted People who just wanted us to have a perfect Holiday in the very south of France. The smal Gite has just enough comfort as we needed. I would not advice this place to very tall People(more than 1,90m), because of the Lengh of the bed or very overweight People because of the size of the shower Unit.

Great Possiblity for Travellers with Dogs. There is a smart Retriever welcoming everybody.

The Area is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. There is really so much to see, old Chateaus, Castles, old Villages and of Course the meditaranian Sea. Wine tasting and even Olive Oil Producers who showed us arround in their Moulins and let us taste the different Types of Olive Oil.

We would certainly book this Place again. Thank you very much <3

Cadre du site très agréable et reposant .

  • 3 of 5
