Perfect Weekend Houseparty

  • 5 of 5

Fabulous. There were 10 of us (for a birthday celebration) and a small dog! Westwood is everything I had hoped for, and ticked every box. Very clean, very comfortable, beautifully decorated, and very warm. Lots of space, and very well equipped for 12 guests (and more!), and kitchen appliances all worked brilliantly. All my friends commented on the comfortable beds, and luxury bed linen.

All just perfect, and scones, cream and jam on arrival were a bonus, thank you.

Thank you Helen - and Ella - for all your help and kind welcome.

One thing - not a criticism - the house is built on a very steep slope, and has lots of stairs - perhaps you should point out that it would be very difficult for elderly/disabled guests?

A comfortable long weekend away

  • 4 of 5

Every year 6 couples spend a long weekend renting a large property in a different part of the country. Westwood is a beautiful 3 storey house which is well appointed and catered admirably for all our needs. The location was excellent with direct access to the coastal path and the town centre a 10 minute walk away with excellent local shops, pubs and restaurants. The only small negative was the access via the steep drive which would not suit large vehicles, although kerbside parking is available. The owner, Helen, was very pleasant and helpful and provided fresh scones, jam and cream for our arrival - a lovely welcome! We would certainly recommend Westwood to others visiting the area and was one of our favourite places to stay!

Gorgeous house for family stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful few days here for a family reunion. From the moment we booked, Helen was outstandingly helpful and friendly. All of the room were spacious and comfortable and the communal areas were in excellent condition and large enough for our whole party. We had a perfect and seamless stay. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here, can not say enough nice things about this place.

A stunning house

  • 5 of 5

The property is large, very comfortable and well equipped. Ten of us stayed for a week for a family holiday following our son's wedding. Helen was extremely helpful in giving us information and answering any queries. On arrival we found scones, clotted cream and jam together with tea, coffee and milk which was very welcoming. All the bedrooms are a good size and nicely furnished. The dining room is perfect for seating large groups with a door opening onto a small patio. The gate at the top of the garden leads to the coastal walk and we took a 3.5 hour return walk into Lee. We stopped for a drink in the village pub where they had a table-tennis table. It's also a lovely walk into Ilfracombe from the back of the house with views out to sea. The house is quiet, being set back from the road up a steep drive but with the house being high up it affords lovely views over Ilfracombe. We had plenty of parking for 4 cars. If you are a large group you couldn't want for a better house to stay in - it was just perfect.

Beautiful well equipped property in great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week during which we attended our daughter's wedding at The Tunnels Beaches. We were provided with all the essentials to settle in such as tea, coffee, milk, washing up tablets and also scones with clotted cream and jam.The property is comfortable , roomy and well equipped. It is convenient for walking down to the tunnels beaches to swim and for the children to explore the rock pools. This means that although you have to pay to go onto the beach , you save on parking fees that would be necessary if driving to other beaches. The town, harbour, beach and parks of Ilfracombe are also in walking distance and cheap shopping at Lidl. If you are not used to hills then you will get fit on your way back up from Lidl's with a couple of bags of shopping! The back garden is on a big slope too, so small children need supervision to go out there. The back gate opens onto a path which leads to the clifftop walk where there are stunning views. From the pictures I had assumed that the small patio out the front with the car parking area opened straight onto the road, but it is uphill behind trees so it is not overlooked.
