Tracey Evans purchased this cottage in 2008
This cottage is all about location easily accessible but well placed for all sorts of holiday activity. On the doorstep of the Brecon Beacons, within minutes of a World Heritage site, 10 minutes from the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean and 40 minutes from Cardiff the capital city of Wales.
Yet when you return to our cottage your back in the peace of the countryside without a stressful journey down endless lanes we are very easy to find!
From the moment you arrive with a home made cake and some local produce we go out of our way to make this holiday memorable. We can arrange a farm tour to show you our way of life, or arrange walks that can introduce you to the flora and fauna of the area.
For the Salmon and Trout fisherman there is fishing available on our beat of the River Usk (extra cost)
This property in quiet countryside is maintained to a high standard and is located in the owners farm. Their farmhouse is in the same area and Tracey is normally on hand and most helpful. Usk and Abergavenny are both a short drive away. We are planning a return visit next year.
What a truly wonderful stay at Creel cottage, Tracey and Colin are great hosts and we was meet with a warm welcome. The cottage is perfect with all you need, modern facilities with a cottage feel. The cottage is very spacious and in a peaceful location with a great river not to far away for fishing (season time). We was sad to leave and defiantly going back next year as plenty to do in the area. Kathy & Keith Bicknell
We had a lovely stay in this property with a good arrangement of bedrooms to cater for different variations. It was a lovely thought having a homemade cake and apple juice awaiting our arrival. There was plenty to do in the surrounding countryside and the grandchildren really enjoyed playing with the farm dogs. We would recommend the property both for couples and families.
It was a great week holiday to relax in the country side. This cottage has a very relaxing atmosphere and refreshing before go back to work. Cottage keepers were excellent. Indeed, a peaceful, serene retreat that is close to the lovely town of Abergavenny. My family enjoyed the cottage life which was lovely, and very well equipped and so comfortable. We were able to eat in, which we enjoyed. One of the highlights was the cows and Moly the dog which will miss and we will hope definitely to visit again!
The owners were very helpful. The payment transaction was quick and smooth. There was very good communications between us, regarding the address, directions, and where to eat and places to visit while we were there. The welcome pack was unexpected but a nice surprise.
Creel Cottage that we stayed in is part of a working farm which was very clean, tidy and very comfortable to stay in for the week. It had everything we needed. it was like home from home. The owners were very approachable, very friendly, and helpful.
We ate at The King of Prussia, which served good food, if not a little overpriced. However we really enjoyed The Bridge Inn which served great food which was very reasonably priced.
We were guided on our lovely walk around the land of the property by the very friendly sheepdog called Molly, which was lovely, we had great fun with her.
Finally we were shown around the farm which was very informative and interesting - learnt a lot !!!!!! Nothing was too much trouble! We would definitely stay here again and share our experience with our family and friends. Thank you to T and C for giving us the opportunity to share and enjoy your lovely home with you. See you again in the future.
