The Old School Room in the heart of Marazion offers three bedrooms and two bathrooms with an impressive garden and parking for two cars on the drive. Totally renovated in 2014 this pretty building was originally the village school and dates back to 1835. With charming reverse living accommodation the three bedrooms, which sleep four people, provide top quality bespoke furniture with plenty of storage. The family bathroom and en-suite bathroom are finished to a luxury standard and the granite features, gold tiles and mood lighting add to the feeling of luxury.

Upstairs is a stunning loft-style open living area covering the entire first floor with exposed beams and polished wooden floorboards. French doors open to the new decked area with an amazing garden backing onto fields. Contemporary garden furniture and a complete sun-trap makes this an area you will not want to leave. The front doors open onto the Juliet Balcony with dining table and comfortable seating for four make meal times perfect for watching the world go by - albeit a very small world, as Marazion is a Charter town with a village atmosphere.

All mod cons are included for a luxury property including; new washing machine and dishwasher, tumble dryer, separate fridge and freezer and twin double electric oven with ceramic hob and new microwave. The granite work surfaces complete the solid oak bespoke kitchen units and there is ample storage and an impressive array of kitchen and dining equipment.

The large flat screen TV with new DVD player and the 'Freeview' channels will ensure that you can relax on the comfortable sofas and curl up to watch films - on chilly evenings taking advantage of the large wood-burner.

Alternatively open up the French doors and look onto the garden and fields with tropical plants and grasses and listen to the seagulls. A walk up into the garden will show views of the Ocean and a glimpse of the stunning St Michael's Mount.

Marazion is a truly special place, just outside Penzance and ten miles from Lands End. A busy small town with five pubs, high quality bistro pub restaurant, fine dining restaurant, a deli, coffee shops, art galleries, bakers selling delicious pasties and scones and even a Spa in the top end hotel. The mile long beach which surrounds the iconic St Michael’s Mount, of Mounts Bay has recently been voted one of the most beautiful bays in the world. At low tide access to St Michael’s Mount is by way of a cobbled causeway, once walked by pilgrims. Whilst at high tide a gentle boat ride takes visitors to the historic castle on the island.

The Old School Room is a non-smoking property and regretfully no pets are accepted. Due to the nature of the steep garden it is not suited to children under 5 years or to those with a disability. There is no wifi which is both a blessing and at times a nuisance. We prefer a complete break from the constant interruptions of mobile phones and devices and enjoy switching off and relaxing. However, there is mobile signal a few minutes walk from the house and also at the top of the garden if you cannot be without checking your phone!

The Old School Room has an amazing garden - backing onto farmland. With views of the ocean and the peace and tranquility of being secluded and detached, I fell in love with the house the moment I saw it. We have been visiting Marazion for over 15 years and have stayed in countless holiday cottages - hopefully this has helped us make The Old School Room a perfect home from home. The attention to detail makes this a high quality holiday house and we very much hope that visitors will enjoy and treasure the house as much as we do.

* Starter pack of logs and kindling for wood burning stove
* Basic essentials in kitchen (cleaning products)
* No beach towels are provided - you are kindly requested not to take bath towels to beaches

A fully refundable security deposit of £200 must also be paid at this time of confirmation this is refundable in the event of no damage and in that event will be refunded to you 7 days after your check out.

In the event of cancellation once payment has been made if the dates can be re-booked you will receive 50% of the total value of the booking price received when re-let (which may be lower than you paid due to short notice or fluctuations in the market). In the event of a short notice cancellation when the property cannot be let there will be no refund therefore please investigate adequate holiday insurance cover for your peace of mind.

Unless otherwise stated the changeover day is Friday. Check in is 4.00pm (16:00hrs) and check out on the day of departure is 10am (10:00hrs) please also vacate the parking space by 10am unless alternative arrangements have been confirmed to you.

No pets and no children under 5 years of age and strictly no smoking.

What to say .... stunning views, immensely pretty and characterful house with all mod-cons. Totally renovated in 2014 and now very contemporary and comfortable all within the stunning old building which was the local primary school in 1834 for the children of Marazion - many local people had grandparents who were taught at the school. A charming town with wonderful beach and the added attraction of the impressive St Michael's Mount - a special place indeed.

  • The entire downstairs of the house was totally re-modelled and renovated in 2014. All three bedrooms are recently decorated with high quality beds and attractive decor. Plenty of storage space, and subtle lighting. The master bedroom has stunning en-suite shower room and the bedroom is carpeted. All other bedrooms have top quality wood laminate flooring.
