The Dash is an unspoiled traditional hill farm, completely secluded, and located on the northern side of Skiddaw. "Perhaps one of the rare places you can see the sea, a waterfall and a lake all in one view!!"
The farm nestles at the foot of the famous Whitewater Dash waterfall which sits at the head of Dash Valley looking down to Bassenthwaite Lake and on to the Solway Coast and to Scotland in the distance.
Set in 150 acres of private farmland, the property has a garden and there is direct access on to the open fell.

No one would dispute that the area is a veritable paradise for walkers and climbers, but it also must be said there are a great many fascinating places to visit by car.
Fortunately for us, the vast majority of visitors don't venture further north than Keswick. The Dash is perhaps only a 15 minute drive north of Keswick and yet the area and roads are perfectly quiet and still.
Places to Visit:-
•Osprey nesting viewpoint, Bassenthwaite
•Trotters World of Animals, Bassenthwaite
•Cumberland Pencil Museum at Keswick
•Wordsworth House, Cockermouth
•Jennings Brewery Tour, Cockermouth
•Keswick Launch (on Derwentwater)
•Cars of the Stars Museum, Keswick
•Theatre by the Lake, Keswick
•Carlisle Castle and Tullie House Museum
We took a variety of walks from the door as well as traveling further afield. There were good places to eat nearby- walking to the local pub was one option. We enjoyed spotting the ospreys from the lookout point in Dodd Woods. The Theatre by the Lake in Keswick provided good entertainment and the Friday market in Keswick was worth a visit.
The farmhouse made the perfect base for our holiday with 6 adults. The drying facilities helped us cope with inclement weather. All the rooms are spacious and so we didn't feel crowded.
I would definitely recommend this as a location for those who want to get away from it all.
The Dash Farmhouse was an amazing experience for our entire group! The adults loved the peaceful location many, many miles away from city and the kids really enjoyed the endless sheep and friendly rooster who became their best friend. The owners did a great job making us feel welcome asking often during our stay what we needed... and we never took them up on the offer as the farmhouse was in great condition and we felt welcomed from the first minute we arrived. This is truly a wonderful location to escape from city living!
Enjoyed the stay very much. Excellent location. It is a paradise in a remote location. Enjoyed the walk to the Dash Falls..
The setting of Dash Farmhouse took our breath away - it is stunning from every direction. Wonderful walking right from the door. The house is beautiful and packed full of character. Lovely big bedrooms and bathrooms - all very comfortable. We really appreciated the chocolates and wine and huge bowl of fruit left for us. Owners are close by and respond quickly to any problems. Would love to stay again - a long weekend just wasn't enough and wouldn't hesitate to recommend
As long as your looking for somewhere remote, this is your place. very well kept house, feels more like you are living in somebody's summer house rather than a holiday let. great access to to Skiddaw straight from your doorstep. stunning views out from your bedroom window
The VRBO write-up is way too modest. The house is perfectly situated on a truly enormous stretch of hilly and dramatic land, with sheep wandering through the back yard and a rooster who likes to peer in the kitchen window. There's great hiking right from the back door. The house itself is beautiful and comfortable.
