Provides Easy Access to the Mountains, Beaches and Villages of the National Park

A pretty slate built cottage, sleeping up to six. It has been fitted out to suit walkers and mountain bikers but is equally good for families with young children and couples wanting a quiet break. For mountain bikers we have installed secure Asgaard bike storage for four or five bikes along with bike cleaning facilities outside. There is for one car to park in front of the house.

The cottage is a real home from home, with leather sofas surrounding the large Inglenook fireplace with multi-fuel burner. It has a TV with FreeSAT and DVD, and there a small library of DVDs, games and books to keep the family occupied. You are welcome to take a book if you can leave another one in its place. One of the sofas is a sofa bed (suitable for one adult or 2 small children).

About the Owner

Becky and Hugh live in a small village in the Cotswolds with their two daughters and two dogs. They have a number of holiday rentals in north and south Wales and the Cotswolds.

The location is brilliant - right in the heart of snowdonia and very near the bounce below.

Although the property is small and the parking is really difficult. I would not have got our estate car in the space but my husband did it with a bit of effort. The location is just brilliant. The property is very basic but adequate - I feel it really suits a group of lads better than a family.

The inglenook fireplace really makes the downstairs of the cottage. It is small and tucked away but close to the centre of Blaenau which we have always found to be a very friendly town.

Antur Stiniog run the mountain biking downhill centre at Blaenau Ffestiniog offering an uplift service. They also run a second centre on the shores of Trawsfynydd Lake which offers kayaking, fishing and ‘outward bound’ type activities.

Bounce Below, located in the slate caverns, offers the whole family the opportunity to play on a series of elasticated nets with interconnecting tubes at different levels with coloured lighting.

Zip World run a number of zip wire sites around North Wales. Titan, located above the slate mines, is the largest zip zone in Europe. A new addition to their zip lines is a series of zip wires running through the caverns underground Zip World Caverns.

Llwyn Celyn Cottage is ideally placed to access the adrenaline sports offered in the local area. It is a couple of minutes drive from the Antur Stiniog downhill mountain biking centre, the largest zip wire zone in Europe and the slate caverns containing huge trampolines (bounce below). In addition you can get the famous railway down to the coast at Porthmadog.
