About the property

Two bedroom cottage near the centre of a delightful Cotswold village

The cottage sits on a country lane that turns into a path which goes down to the pretty stream that meanders its way through the village.

Throughout the cottage the large windows have charming views over the back garden or across the rooftops and gardens to the valley beyond. There is luxury linen on the king size and super king size beds, making it perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway. Equally the beds can be unzipped to make two twins bedded rooms upon request, and with a sofa bed downstairs, groups of up to five guests can be accommodated but ideally suited for four.

About Hugh Robertson

Becky and Hugh make a living buying properties, converting them to holiday homes and running them. We live in the same village as this holiday home with our two daughters and two dogs.

Why Hugh Robertson chose North Oxfordshire

Rose Cottage provides a great base for visiting the Cotswold towns and villages. It is also the mid point between Oxford with its Colleges and museums and Stratford with its Shakespearean history. Blenheim Palace, home of the Dukes of Marlborough and birthplace of Winston Churchill, is a short drive away.

What makes this cottage unique

The Cottage is an 18th Century stone built terrace with modern facilities inside. It is close to the heart of the village so you can walk everywhere yet it is still quiet and secluded.

Happy in Hooky!

Verified Stay

Snug, clean, comfortable beds, warm, quiet, with lovely views from bedroom window. Very pleasant setting and extremely satisfying stay in general. Having wi-fi was a Godsend as very ltd mobile 'phone signal in the village.

Pub nearby was ok for dinner but very ltd menu and no veg offered with courses.

Though very loathe to site any negatives, it was a bit hard to find in the dark, (Hook Norton as well as the cottage), we are more accustomed to gas vs electric hob cooking, the shower door didn't seem to 'magnet' closed as many do, and water pressure could be a challenge when one guest washing dishes while another was in the shower.

Regardless, we would happily stay again and in the main had no complaints.

behave in a way as not to cause nuisance or offence to neighbouring properties. Please note that we
are entitled to ask you to leave the holiday property, without refund if in our opinion your behaviour
is unacceptable.
Pets - Pets are allowed by prior arrangement only.
Your Responsibilities - You must look after the property. This means you must keep all furniture,
fittings and effects, (inside or outside the property) in the same state of repair and condition as at
the start of the holiday - You must leave the property in the same state of general order in which you
found it - If you break these conditions the Owner/Caretaker can make an additional cleaning charge
and/or make a claim against you for repair or loss as a result of damage caused.
Insurance - we recommend that you have holiday insurance. We cannot be responsible or liable for
any loss of property, or for accidents/injuries sustained at our property. Please ensure that you lock
all doors and shut all windows when not at the property. It is advised that you ensure that your
holiday insurance covers the loss/theft or your personal possessions as we cannot be responsible for
the compensation of any loss or theft on the property.
Gardens – You are responsible for your children, they must be supervised, or use gardens at their
own risk.
Dissatisfaction – Your stay is very important to us, as are your recommendations to others so if there
is a problem, please inform us while you are here. Please do not wait until you return home.
