About Anne Clare

Stephen and Anne moved back to Cornwall last year. Having spent many years moving with job commitments they are now happy to settle in Cornwall and are looking forward to welcoming holiday makers to enjoy their Diary and grounds.

Why Anne Clare chose Cornwall

Goenrounsen House is a beautiful property with exceptional grounds which were once part of the National Garden Scheme. Since moving in we have worked hard to restore them and we hope our visitors enjoy them.

Wonderful and Charming

  • 5 of 5

The Dairy is a lovely place to stay when visiting Cornwall. Over the years I have stayed i various holiday lets and the majority have been nice and the Dairy has all of the elements that you would expect, but it is the little details that elevate the Dairy from just being nice to exceptional. For example, it sits within the grounds of a manor house which you are free to roam. Location-wise it is just off the A30 meaning we could access all of Cornwall without having to retrace the same 10-15 minutes of country lanes which I often find accompanies staying in similar rural locations. Little things like the Wi-Fi worked well. Being on one level was perfect for our little boy who enjoyed running around and the owners, Anne and Stephen made us feel really welcome and were on hand to help if we needed anything. The photos of the Dairy don't really do it justice as it much bigger than it appears. All in all, perfect!

If you want a relaxing, stress-free holiday then this is the place to book. The dairy is excellently equipped for all your self-catering needs, very clean and extremely comfortable, (bonus of two en-suites). There are loads of books, DVDs and information leaflets promoting Cornwall and its amenities. Anne (owner and a lovely lady) who welcomed us on arrival had laid on a delicious cream tea for us which was much appreciated. Living next door both Anne and her husband Stephen were on-hand should we have had need of them (we didn't as everything was just fine and we had all we needed in the cottage). The grounds are fantastic, complete with large lake which we enjoyed wandering around, sitting for a while in the hydrangea garden, just appreciating it all and relaxing. We only had 4 nights there but all 3 of our party wished we could stay longer we loved it so much. Will definitely be looking to re-visit in the future.

The Dairy was more than we expected. It was very well stocked and lacked nothing.

The property is well located and the hosts were charm personified!

Nothing was too much trouble.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely spot to anyone.

Cornwall hideaway treat

  • 4 of 5

We spent almost a week in the "Dairy" which is a very nice, very recent barn/dairy conversion. We chose the place initially as it had two fairly large ensuit bathrooms in the essentially two separate suits. It's in a lovely setting near to the owners beautiful main house and large grounds. The only mild problem is to be careful on the little road leading to the farmhouse and the "Dairy".

The main living area and kitchen are great. Beautiful marble type of stone which looks really nice. The furniture and appliances work well and the small fireplace with supplied wood and materials also works well and feels great on a damp, cold day or evening. The home also has a well working central heating system.

Set in the middle of Cornwall the area is great, near to a couple of nice pubs with shopping nearby and a great fish and chip shop. Nothing is far away but far away enough to be very enjoyable. The North Cornish coast is only about 9 miles away and the South coast is a similar distance.

Our two family couples had a wonderful time here and would happily do it again.

A relaxing few days in beautiful surroundings.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Dairy at the beginning of October for 3 nights and didn't want to leave. The accommodation was perfect, spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The owners had kindly left us a cream tea which was very much appreciated by our son and daughter after our journey from Somerset. Our children loved having the wonderful grounds to explore and we all enjoyed cosy evenings in, in front of the log burner playing some of the board games we found in the dresser. Thank you so much Anne and Stephen for a wonderful stay and making us feel so welcome.
