16th Century Gentleman's Farm

Updated: 09-Oct-2016
3 bedroom converted barn with courtyard & terrace

Historically a gentleman's farm complete with ruined 'pigionnier' this beautiful property has been lovingly restored during the past few years by the family. The main house boasts a 16th Century spiral stone staircase and adjoining, 'La Grange Ancienne' has been recently renovated to provide quality accommodation to the visitors of the region.

We believe your holiday accomodation should be a home from home.

There are 3 double bedrooms named after wonderful villages in the area: Flavigny, Beaulieu & Vezelay.

Tastefully decorated in neutral tones and furnished with French style, Renoir prints, while providing the modern day comforts. You will also find Provençal quilts, English linens & designer shower rooms.

A beautifully balanced living area boasting views over the orchard & courtyard with fully equipped Kitchen, think Emile Henry, Le Creusot, Villeroy & Boch. A light and airy living/dining space with 3 full French windows makes an inviting space in all weathers.

Outside: The house, Grange & outbuildings all sit beautifully around the grand courtyard; cave, gardens, kitchen gardens, orchard & well.

The pretty courtyard Terrace with seating for 6 complete with private BBQ...a perfect spot to relax & enjoy all the fine foods & wines that Brugundy has to offer.

We have been visiting La Grange Ancienne for the last 6 years. We love this area so much that we bought a barn and are now in the process of renovating it. We keep on comîng bâck to this gîte as its beautiful and tastefully furnished.  The bedrooms are immaculate and the bedding is so comfy. The kitchen is well equipped and everything is extremley high standard. The hosts Kate and Kevin are always warm and welcoming to us. There is so much to see in this area including the lovely city of Dijon and famous towns in Burgundy known best for their fine wine such as Chablis and Beaune. We always stock up with the local wines and cremant before headîng home and always wish we could stay longer!

A gem nestled in the heart of Burgundy

  • 5 of 5

We rented La Grange Ancienne for Christmas 2015. It was a lovely stay, great location for exploring all of Burgundy - nestled just south of Chatillon-sur-Seine.

We had day trips to Beaune, Dijon & Auxerre. Our 3 children loved wandering down to the river seine in the village & roaming in the nearby forests.

A great break, would love to come back in the summertime!
