Why Gillian Richards chose Pembroke, Tenby, Saundersfoot & The South Coast

Manorbier has a unique combination of peace/tranquillity and active outdoor pursuits in a, beautiful, culturally interesting, and tasteful Welsh village setting.

The property itself is 440 yards from the beach and coastal path. Manorbier castle is even closer! Most facilities are within walking distance.

Tenby and Pembroke are each about 5 miles away.

The property has been modernised and refurbished in 2015.

What makes this apartment unique

Manorbier village lies in the beautiful county of Pembrokeshire in South West Wales. Lying West of Tenby and South East of Pembroke, Manorbier was once famously described as "the pleasantest place in Wales” by Giraldus Cambrensis, The Archdeacon of Brecon and historian of his time.

A perfect getaway apartment.

  • 5 of 5

Giraldus is a light airy two bedroomed apartment a short distance from the beach. It is perfectly comfortable for a family with a cafe, a pub, a playpark and the castle nearby. We loved the village atmosphere of Manorbier and the apartment had every convenience necessary for an enjoyable holiday.

We will come again.

Car: not necessary

Manorbier is on the internationally acclaimed Pembrokeshire Coastal Path with first class walking, surfing, rock climbing and birdwatching. Bara Fundle, Freshwater, Broadhaven, and Precept Beaches are all within walking distance, or a short drive. Bosherston Ponds with it`s National Trust café at picturesque Stackpole Quay exported limestone in the last century.

Manorbier has interesting history with a Norman Castle 200 yards away. Tenby with it`s walled town, harbour, fishing trips, museum and restaurants is 10 miles. The castles of Pembroke, Picton and Carew are popular with visitors. Oakwood amusement park, Bluestone and Folly Farm are children`s favourites. Narberth with it`s boutique shops and interesting restaurants is nearby. Further afield (approx. 30 miles) is classy St David`s (smallest cathedral city in the UK) with it`s sea sports and Christian community.

Caldey Island (off Tenby) is to this day home for an order of Cistercian monks after1500 years of devotion to the Christian life and includes visitors in it`s services.

Skomer Island nature reserve has the largest colony of Manx Shearwaters in the UK and is worth visiting in June for the Puffins alone.
