Skrinkle cottage - a lovely little cottage in the Pembrokeshire countryside

  • 5 of 5

Skrinkle Cottage was perfect for my weekend away in Pembrokeshire. It was clean, quiet, well equipped and had a lovely comfy bed. When Wilfie (my dog) and I arrived, Brian, who owns the cottages, was there to welcome uswith his friendly dog Jess and was very helpful in pointing me in the right direction regarding getting to certain places I wanted to visit. The cottage has a little garden to the front which gets the sun in the evening and is a lovely place to sit when you return from a day walking/sight seeing.

The cottage is in a perfect location for visiting many of the beautiful bays along the coast and for walking the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Recommended walks that I really enjoyed were from Stackpole Quay along the coastal path to Bosherston Lily Ponds and back along an inland path - approx 6 miles and Manobier Bay to Swanlake Bay. I walked there and back along the coastal path but you can take an inland path back (some quite steep climbs involved). Take a trip down to Skrinkle Haven and have coffee and cake in the Skrinkle Cafe next to the Youth Hostel.

I am looking forward to my next visit to this area and would definitely book Skrinkle Cottage again. Thank you Brian

Lovely location, beautiful area to visit

  • 4 of 5

Owners left a really nice welcome pack but unfortunately we never got to meet them but sounded like they had their hands full having just bought this property and had also just had a new baby as well. The cottage was a little basic and could do with some updating but was clean and comfortable. The location was absolutely stunning with wonderful walks along the nearby coastal path. Nice pub in Manorbier that does scrummy looking food. We planned lots of different walks but the weather did not play ball but we found that the dog adored the south beach at Tenby where there was so much space and lots of other dogs to play with too. The sea was perfect for him to run in and out of. Tenby town has everything you need and is quite interesting to visit too. All in all we would recommend.

Lovely cosy cottage in a very peaceful area, yet close to the coastline.

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely stay in Skrinkle Cottage. The owner, Russell, gave us a warm welcome and had provided a great welcome pack containing lots of local produce. As Russell had only recently taken over the ownership of this property he explained that he would be updating all of his cottages, camping areas, etc, as soon as they were vacant. Having said that Skrinkle Cottage was very comfortable and extremely clean. We all thought the beds were some of the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Our little dog liked the garden, which is completely enclosed and very safe. We would have easily given 5 stars, however the fridge and kitchen equipment all need updating (which I understand is going to be part of the renovations). The cottage is located in a very good position, close to many coastal towns. We travelled as far as Saundersfoot to the east and to Angle in the west. Unfortunately the weather was not the best when we were there, but that is no-one's fault and we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We hope to return in the near future after the renovations.

Lovely, spacious property which is an ideal location for exploring Pembrokeshire!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was lovely and spacious enough for a family of 4. We went with our 3 year old and 9 year old. The owner welcomed us on arrival, which was great as I was keen to learn about local walks, particularly the one to nearby Manorbier beach. We managed this in 20 minutes, so it is very handy. It is worth exploring the castle there as well and sampling the cakes. Tenby is also very close and just a short drive. We had a lovely stay and would stay in the cottage again. My only issue is the Wi-Fi which can be touch and go as to whether you get a signal. Overall, great!

Lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

Excellent cottage for my family, 2 adults, teenage daughter and dog. Cottage was clean, cosy and well equipped. Garden to front was perfect to sit in and my dog loved to look over the wall. Few minutes drive to Tenby and within walking distance of Manorbier beach and castle. We had a lovely week. The host Brian was very friendly and close by if we had needed him. Would not hesitate to recommend this cottage and hopefully return one day.
