Perfect little cottage for the weekend

  • 5 of 5

We spent the weekend in Cotherstone/Barnard Castle as we had a 50th to go to in Darlington. We decided to stay a bit further out as we took the dogs with us. The cottage was a perfect little home away from home.

Perfect get-away!

  • 5 of 5

This lovely accommodation is clean, well equipped, cosy yet spacious. The beds are comfortable with good quality bedding. Loved the nice touches of homemade jam and biscuits, milk, nuts and toiletries. It's situated in a pretty country village with good walks from the door. There's a pub next door and another not far away with good food. A perfect holiday location!

Sprawling, well-appointed cottage in fab location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a long weekend over October half term with an extended family including several wee ones. It was a fabulous place. Great location in a picturesque village. Horses grazing in fields behind, loads of great walks nearby, lots of different things to do. We visited a ruined castle, huge waterfall, railway museum and had lots of walks. There is a great park in the village. Beamish was an hour's drive away.

The cottage itself is very big, and the owner kindly arranged to put in an extra camp bed to accommodate an extra child (we were 9 + a baby). Very cosy and nicely put together with a highly popular jacuzzi bath! There was a big kitchen, great dining table and even a wee outside spot with a BBQ. Owners friendly and very helpful. Loved it, Highly recommend.
