Modern lodge excellent views. Warm & spacious with 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms.

Our Lodges arrived in 2012 and sleeps up to four guests in light, warm & spacious comfort with exceptional views of Blencathra, Castle Rock, Helvellyn , High Rigg & Skiddaw. There is a spacious lounge / kitchen / diner at the front and an en-suit double & a twin with separate bathroom to the rear. Bio mass central heating keep the lodge warm and snug whatever the weather.

All bedding, electric, heating, broadband (light use only ) & towels included.

Inside you have a 42" free view tv, dvd and radio, electric coal effect fire. Kitchen with integrated slim line dishwasher,tall fridge freezer, electric double oven, gas hob & microwave. The en-suit has a walk in shower & the bathroom a shower over the bath. A mobile phone signal is available in the lodge as is a basic wireless broadband connection,

From the raised front decked area with seating and lounge views also take in a pond with wildlife & fields often with sheep & lambs and cows with calves.

The site is level with parking beside the lodge for two cars. Walks, easy or difficult, start from your door. We are idealy located for touring most of the Lake District being 4 miles South from Keswick, 18 from Penrith & M6, 13 from Ambleside & 25 to Windermere. As on site oweners we will have your property ready and can help with any questions you may have.

About the Owner

Duncan was born in Threlkeld & Gillian in Newlands. Duncan is a builder by trade and I worked on the family dairy & sheep farm before raising our daughter & son, helping on building projects then running the holiday lets at Bram Cragg from 1993. Duncan, since fell running, is a keen mountain biker a sport that has taken our family all over the UK. Gillian has been taking part in local dog agility events since 2006.

Any spare time and we walk the fell tops we have missed with our dogs & family.

Fabulous accommodation in a beautiful setting!

Beautifully kept accommodation, with great attention to detail, in an amazing setting! Gillian has thought of everything with all the home comforts provided, including a dishwasher and hidden away washer/drier which is always handy. We had a lovely welcome with everything spotless and beautifully laid out with lovely touches like the addition of a delicious plate of shortbread sheep (we nearly asked for seconds) and a pint of milk . Gorgeous sheepdogs Gem and Fly turned up most mornings with a ball for a quick game and you can see sheep and cows in the surrounding fields. It is easy to find from the M6 and well positioned for visiting all the main Lakes. It fact it's so lovely I almost want to keep it a secret! We will definitely be returning, hopefully for longer next time.

Would happily stay again

We have previously stayed at the barn and thoroughly recommend that. On this occasion as we were a smaller party, we stayed in one of the log cabins. The area is stunning, the owners friendly and helpful and the accommodation very clean. It has everything you would need and is very comfortable. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending the property.

Good stay in Lake District

We had a wonderful fine stay in the cottage. There was something wrong about the heating, so he owners made us a very good offer: we could stay in a nice cottage, also with a wonderful view. We liked it very much, and it was very comfortable.

Location

From the Owner

Bram Cragg Farm being owned & loved by Gillians granparents since 1974 and has been in our ownership from 2008. We renovated & developed it until 2014 with Duncan using his 35 years of building expertise & family help to make it the holiday choice of many returning guests. You can;t help but fall in love with the setting of Bram Cragg against the fells in a sceinic valley. The 50 acre of land is now stocked with our neighbourghs quality limousan beef and breeding sheep from April to October and we maintain the land all the year round.

Visitors return for the ever changing views of the fells, lakes & tarns from waters edge or mountain top. Paths for walking are in every valley. Castlerigg Stone Circle has excellent views of the surrounding fells with parking near by. Winlatter Forest 10 miles has marked trails for walkers & mountain bikes, a Go Ape adventure course, playarea, cafe, ospray web cam and shop. Keswick has extensive choice of outdoor clothing shops, takeaway, cafe, restaurant & pubs for food. There is a market on each Saturday and Thursday. Keswick has a theatre, museum, park, ice climbing wall & climbing wall, cinema, liesure pool & launches for rides on Derwent water or rowing boat hire.

Art galleries and garden cetres or nature reserves are never far away. Enjoying the clean air and the views form Bram Cragg might be all you need.

From the Owner

Bram Cragg Farm looks unchanged with the oldest part dating from 1688. Buildings were added as dairy & sheep farming grew and mining, railways and reservoirs expanded the population. We have been allowed to develop these to provide holiday accommodation with lovely views and we replaced two existing static caravans with two larger modern lodges. These have more comfort and space for up to four guests, more privercy and large unrestricted views of fells & fields.
