Vuemont is a new residential community located on a ridge overlooking the west and north-western coast of Barbados. The location offers something for everyone as it is ideally situated with easy access to both the West and East coasts of the Island. The charming Speightstown is just a few minutes drive away where you will find a selection of shops, restaurants and an array of other amenities. In addition there are numerous tourist attractions, fabulous beaches and world class dining all within a short drive. This apartment really is a home from home with every amenity for a carefree and relaxing holiday in peaceful surroundings. The master bedroom is air-conditioned and has a large closet and doors that open out to the patio and pool. The second bedroom has two single beds, is also air-conditioned and also has a large closet. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom with sink, toilet and a bath tub. The guest bedroom has a separate bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. The kitchen is a fully appointed kitchen with everything you will need including a refridgerator/freezer with ice maker, stove and oven, microwave, toaster and blender as well as a full set of cutlery and crockery. The living room is fully furnished with a sofa and two chairs, coffee table, wireless internet, radio that can play IPod/IPhone and a TV cabinet with Apple TV. It is well lit and leads onto the large patio with dining table and chairs. There is plenty of parking as well as lift access. There are also walking paths around the Vuemont compound. The property is a gated community with 24 hour security. All towels, linens, sheets etc are provided. A housekeeping service is also provided once a week. At this time the apartment will be cleaned and all towels and linens will be changed. The apartment is all on one level. There is however one small step to the garden and pool area. The large patio faces the east which allows it to benefit from the prevailing breeze. It looks out onto the gardens and split level pool. The pool area is ideal for children and has plenty of seating and lounge chairs. The upper pool also has a gazebo next to it. The large patio is furnished with a large dining table and six chairs, two single seater chairs and a hammock.

Perfect location, Pool, Apartment, Quiet Area

The Apartment was excellent and so was Maria who was very helpful before we arrived and during the stay, we originally booked 1 week and was booked into the Hilton at Kingston for the last week, but after enjoying the Apartment, pools and location we cancelled and booked another week with Maria.

The Apartment pictures do not do this place justice, it was very clean and well equipped with the essentials, everything in the kitchen, washer & dryer, living room had a flat screen TV with cable and an apple TV box with access to Netflix. Air con in both bedrooms, 10 minutes on with doors closed and the rooms were like a freezer and would last all night, rooms also have ceiling fans.

The veranda area was the main area we spent our time sitting, at breakfast we were visited by the two Green Monkeys who would come very close on the grass as intrigued with our 3 month old baby daughter.

The pools, the first one right outside the room was made up of three pools, we never had to share any of the pools it was always quiet, the infinity pool a stroll just up the hill has lovely views and was a sun trap. We spent a couple of full days up here and only had to share the pool once, it was incredibly peaceful, you could here birds the breeze in the trees and the sound of the waterfall from the pool.

We never used the gym or tennis courts so cannot comment on them.

Tips for apartment buy lots of the Mosquito coils that you burn, they are very cheap we would set one off each night behind the pillar and this would keep the mosquito's from biting for few hours and would then set another off if still out drinking.

To keep the living room cool as no air con or ceiling fan, open the front door and the patio door this creates a breeze through the room and cools down nicely.

Shops small shop (trimart) at the bottom of the hill and in the town a larger supermarket (Jordans) so can stock up with everything.

One beach we used a few times was Harrismith Villa Beach, this is an abandoned villa\plantation house, the beach is exactly as you dream of a deserted beach, its one of the top 10 voted beaches in the world. never saw anyone else the days we visited and a very nice local climbed the palm trees to get fresh coconuts for us for a few dollars.

Eating lots of places, have to try Chefette if you have kids

We would recommend this Apartment and the next holiday to Barbados we will look to stay here again, thank you so much Maria

Vuemont is less than a 10 minute drive from the west coast and Speightstown and about a 15 minute drive from the east coast and Bathsheba.

There are numerous beautiful beaches along the west coast as well as plenty bars, restaurants and shopping.

No where in Barbados is very far. The west coast is between a 5 and 10 minute drive, the east coast is probably about a 15 minute drive. Royal Westmoreland and Apes Hill are about 5 minutes away by car. The nearest town is Speightstown which is about 5 minutes drive. There is a small supermarket about 2 minutes drive down the hill or a much larger one in Speightstown.

The nearest shopping centre is Lime Grove in Holetown. Holetown is about 15 minutes by car and is full of shops, bars, supermarkets and the beach near by. Tourist attractions are also near by such as Farley Hill, St Nicholas Abbey, Cherry Tree Hill & Barbados Wildlife Reserve. Take a drive down to the east coast and have lunch at The Round House or take a pick nick and have lunch at Barclays Park. I would also highly recommend the Sunday lunch at the Atlantis Hotel. The original hotel was knocked down and rebuilt exactly as it was, and the owner, Andrew Warden, has continued the tradition of a fantastic buffet lunch by the sea.
