This large house offers comfortable living on a grand scale. The three bedrooms have their own bathrooms and separate toilets. The dining room seats 10. The library leads into a cosy lounge around the open fire and glass doors open onto the terrace which is surrounded by mature bushes and ferns. The garden is a paradise for birds. Situated in the village of Campagne les Hesdin it is convenient for shops and amenities. The surrounding countryside of Le Pays des 7 Vallées is very beautiful. Walking, cycling, cultural activities and fine dining are all on the doorstep.
Interesting single storied house, very well appointed in lovely grounds. All the facilities that you have at home. Beautiful countryside nearby and lovely towns and the coast short distance away.
Only problems were WFI not working, which we all needed, and one of the toilet doors jammed closed on our first day
Great holiday in a unique modern property-Thanks so much for a great stay. The house is so very well equipped, had bbq's, played scrabble, everything you need for a family with children and adults of all ages- Quiet secluded garden for sunbathing and great space for the kids to run wild. We all loved having a fabulous en-suite walk in shower room for each bedroom, and chilling out in the sunken living room with beautiful views of the garden. Highly recommended! The village has a great boulangerie, cafe, pharmacy, supermarket and more and it is within easy reach of the coast too
We were welcomed for our stay and immediately shown around the property, the accommodation was very neat and tidy. The lady even rode off to guide us to a restaurant she would suggest for our first evening meal and we were certainly not disappointed.
As we intended to eat in for the other nights, we were keen to check out the equipment in the kitchen, this all we wanted, plenty of everything plus a dishwasher. The weather was kind enough for us to be able to eat alfresco for a few times.
We have been to the area before and basically knew our way around, but even so, to have better weather than previous years, we enjoyed the market at Etaples and the bird reserve near Le Crotoy even more.
All together a very relaxing comfortable house, a thoroughly enjoyable short break.
Thank you for our marvellous stay over the Easter weekend. Thank you for booking the weather - much appreciated!
We enjoyed the garden in the spring sunshine - perfect for a beer or a glass of wine. Kitchen was well equipped - we did not have any negative comments to make - every thing you would want to cook a feast!
As a group of friends we enjoyed lounging around in the pit after a leisurely meal around the huge dining table. Each of the bedrooms was well appointed and the blackout shutters meant that we had two 10 hour sleeps over the weekend - bliss. Lovely house. Would recommend to any one. Lots to see in the area with great walks on your doorstep. Fantastic time - thank you.
A group of seven of us travelled to stay in Campagne les Hesdin after selecting it from the website due mainly to location and being dog friendly. The first members of the party to arrive were warmly greeted by Vivian, the owner and quickly messaged us to say the house was "tremendous"! It was indeed, comfortable and cosy, perfectly clean and well stocked with whatever we needed. Vivian had gone to the trouble of decorating the house even though we arrived on December 27th and there was also a large amount of dry wood available ready to light the beautiful, open fire. The photos on the website really don't show how spacious the property is, the dining room was perfect for our relaxing dinners every night and the fire in the lounge invited long evenings of chat or a quiet read in the library area. The weather was cold but the house was warm at all times and the grounds were perfect for our Labrador to explore safely. We know the area pretty well so visited some favourite haunts: Le Paris restaurant in Le Touquet for fine dining, Saint Valery and Le Crotoy and also returned to see my great uncle's grave in Wimereux cemetery, he died in WW1 and the poet John McCrea who wrote In Flanders Fields is buried there too. Local markets in Hesdin and Etaples were great. The vet just along from the house was able to do the necessary paperwork for the dog and the lab in Etaples gave excellent service when my father needed a blood test and results.
Vivian, Merci beaucoup, you have a beautiful and very special house and we all said that we would love to visit again soon. What a great start to 2017! Couldn't recommend it highly enough, it's "Tremendous".
Thank you for allowing us the use of your house. We did enjoy our stay and were able to visit places not seen before.
The house is well equipped and certainly warm. We found the bathrooms and bedrooms very well appointed and the linen and towels provided were excellent.
However, there is a downside to our visit. My wife has problems with loss of sensation in her feet. (like vertigo). She was not able to access the television "pit" and found the steps to the dining room challenging.
I, personally, did not like the "pit", and would definitely not like to visit with small children; the temptation to jump down is too much. Even our older boys had to be restrained. The entire living area appears to be tired, the insides of the blinds very dirty.
As a family of seven bringing our own provisions we found it difficult to make space in the larder. It seems to be full of the remnants of previous tenants.
The garden is overgrown, and, in fact, I was disappointed upon our arrival to see the state of the exterior. The boys explored the garden in wellies, but none of the adults ventured very far.
I am sorry to give such a negative report, but you did ask!
Best Wishes,
Brian Evans
