Located in Gouveia village, in the center of Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, 8,5 km from Sintra historic center and 2,5 km from the beach.

This house is ideal for a for those who wish to just lay back and enjoy the Portuguese sun with an option to also keep cool under the shade of the tall pine and palm trees in the garden.

Families with children can enjoy trips to the beach or if you wish there is also a small pool at the property where parents can overlook on the children and also enjoy your holiday time.

During the Winter there is a fireplace and the wood will be provided for a pleasant stay.

The home has 1 large double bedroom with additional seating area, a more than average sized twin bedroom and a further single bedroom. There are 2 separate bathrooms both with bathtubs and shower. There is a large living area with sufficient seating for all guests it includes a large screen cable TV and Wifi in all the house.

There is also an adjoining dining area for all guests. The property furthermore has a large garden area for sitting/bathing a small pool area, BBQ with seating area & private off street parking.

Why not visit the beaches of Sintra. From Praia de Aguda, Praia do Magoito & Praia das Maças all of which are located between a 5 to 15 min drive from the property.

Local Area: Sintra: Beaches - Guincho (windsurf and surf), Praia Grande (surf, family and dinosaur footprints ), Adraga (voted one of 3 most beautiful beaches in Europe ), Azenhas do Mar (delightful fishermen village), Praia das Maçãs (family) and more. Sintra-World Heritage Site, unforgettable touristic village, with castles, palaces, monuments, museums, tram rides, mini train rides, botanical gardens (15min). Cascais, Estoril - fashionable town, night clubs, marina, bars, restaurants, seaside esplanades, shopping centres, casino (20 min). Lisbon - cosmopolitan, museums,monuments, typical restaurants, Fado singing, theatres, shops, oceanarium, endless offers (30 min). TENNIS at Praia das Maçãs (5min). Horse riding at Janas (10 min). Sea water swimming pool with gigantic slides at Praia das Maçãs (8 min).

Beaches: The local region is famous for its beaches, restaurants, palaces, walking and golf. And Lisbon is only 30-40 minutes away. The beaches of Sintra's coastline are Praia Grande (great for surfing), Praia das Maçãs, Praia da Adraga, Praia da Ursa, Praia da Aguda(is located only a kilometre away) and Magoito, all 10 to 20 minutes car trip from the house. There is another really big beach called Guincho along the coastal route to Cascais where the surfing world championships have been held. Around the sandy stretch of the Praia das Maçãs there are several restaurants, cafés, bars, a disco, as well as shops selling local crafts, esplanades and excellent food both in the summer or in the winter. A picturesque tramline connects Praia das Maçãs, Colares and Sintra. There are also a number of excellent restaurants along the Guincho beach coastline.

I will always be present at the check in. I usually (+ 6 days) show to my guests the beaches around and I make a welcome drink with portuguese wine and cheese. If request ( extra payment) I can pick them up on the airport, in case of golfer's guest I can take them to the golf course and pick them up latter.

Character house

Traditional house, very spacious with own garden and terrace, in quiet village within easy drive of Sintra or the lovely bays on the coast. Hosts, Isabel and Pedo couldn't have been more charming and helpful. Enjoyed a lovely wine and cheese evening with them on their terrace next door. The house is comfortable and warm, with nice log fire if chilly evenings.

Suggestion for Pedro: a decent saucepan and a bath mat in the bathrooms would be welcome additions. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

Super sympa !!!

Nous avons passé deux semaines très agréables dans cette maison qui a beaucoup de charme. L'intérieur est typique, les pièces sont grandes, c'est nickel pour les vacances. Le jardin est impeccable. C'est calme... A savoir : les voisins (les propriétaires) accèdent à chez eux par le jardin de la maison. Ca ne nous a pas gêné du tout, ils sont très sympas. Le petit village est mignon, les commerçants accueillants. La côte est superbe, les falaises sont aussi hautes que la mer est froide. Mais les plages sont très belles. Enfin, la localisation est top : au pied de Sintra, pas loin de Lisbonne ou Cascais / Estoril. Bref de super vacances...

Belle propriété, au calme.

Grande maison ancienne de caractère.

Juste une remarque concernant le matériel de cuisine. Un peu juste. Une seule et petite casserole !

Et de vieux faitouts....
