Why Graeme Whittingham chose Goodrich

The property is situated on the Wye Valley footpath offering many walks of differing lengths. It sits within easy reach of Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth, Goodrich with it's castle and excellent pub the Hostelrie, Hereford, and Gloucester. Not forgetting the Forrest of Dean just down the road with it's many places of interest, and industrial heritage dating back to the Romans.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage stands in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with the Wye Valley footpath passing the front door The river Wye is100 yards away with excellent fishing opportunities on either private fishing or day tickets.

Kayaking takes place just across the road from the cottage, with reasonable hiring charges. An ideal way to explore the beautiful Wye Valley.

The cottage has many modern features, but has also retained much of it's original character as a former forge built in the 1850's. With the large log burning stove it is incredibly cosy on autumn and winter nights, plus it has modern electric heating.

Cosy cottage in a beautiful location

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was certainly in a lovely location - especially beautiful in the Autumn, and very convenient for visiting the forest trails and local towns.

Graeme was very helpful and the cottage was very clean and tidy on arrival. We didn''t need to make use of the log burner but it would be lovely on cold days.

The bed was very comfotable - always a bonus in a holiday rental. The only slight negative is the interesting plumbing, which takes a bit of getting used to!

Would certainly recommend.

Owner's Response: Thank-you for your positive comments. Sorry to hear that you had a problem with the hot water. It's all down to the flow rate. Best wishes Graeme
