Number 14 The Crags is an attractive apartment on the Maenporth Estate. Decorated mainly in white with accents that add personality, the apartment has recently been refurbished and upgraded.

You reach Crags 14 via a short, internal flight of stairs. Open the door and find yourself in the large living and dining area with its bold, blue stripy wall and matching curtains. There are two squashy sofas in blue-grey, with throws and scatter cushions, plus a leather bean bag for maximum comfort. It's a lovely spot to relax and take in the view after a busy day sightseeing in Truro. The furniture here is natural wood, giving a warm feel to the room. The dining table has cream leather seats, and there is plenty of space for four to enjoy a leisurely supper.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need for a week or two away. It has glossy white units and fawn coloured tiles and work tops. It's a bright space for a relatively compact area. A washer drier is housed in the hallway cupboard which means ample cupboard space in the kitchen.

The master bedroom has one apple-green feature wall, and gold lamps which work well against the heavy, cream furniture. The twin room has accents of sea-blue. Both bedrooms have patio doors which open on to the paved terrace. The family bathroom, recently renovated with a modern white suite, is opposite, while an en-suite shower room and toilet is accessed via the twin room.

Outside again, through the patio doors and you'll see one of the best views at Maenporth. From the terrace you can see the beach, the headland and the sea. Enjoy early morning breakfasts of scrambled eggs and warm toast and just take in the scenery. There's a barbecue out here too - chuck some steaks on, and relax in the last rays of the day's sunshine.

We'll have a welcome hamper ready for your arrival - red wine, Smugglers tea, Taylors filter coffee, milk and a selection of Cornish biscuits. There is a returnable £100 deposit against damages on this property.

You'll have 29 acres of established gardens to explore, plus full use of the leisure facilities, including the heated, indoor swimming pool.

A very relaxing holiday with plenty to do. On site facilities are excellent. Beautiful woodland walks and easy access to the beach. Great beach café with reasonably priced snacks.

Activity and Interests

The Maenporth Estate is just two miles from Falmouth and overlooks the beautiful Maenporth Beach. It's a private complex with a coded entrance gate, making it safe and secure for all guests.

Set in 29 acres of natural woodland, with stunning views of the cove, it's a perfect base for family holidays. You'll find two all-weather tennis courts, a children's play area, and, of course, the Leisure Centre where we have our indoor, heated pool, sauna and Jacuzzi. There are pool and table tennis tables - all free of charge.

The famous award-winning Cove Restaurant is on site, or if you'd prefer something simple, try the Life's a Beach Cafe - you guessed it, on Maenporth beach, for fresh crab sandwiches or a Cornish clotted cream ice-cream. Two miles along the coast and you'll come across Helford Passage and the wonderful Ferryboat Inn which specialises in serving local seafood dishes. From here you can catch the foot ferry across to Helford Village, or hire a rowing boat or paddle board for the afternoon.

Maenporth's a sheltered cove with shallow waters, making it perfect for all kinds of family beach activities: the little ones will love paddling, splashing daddy, and clambering through rock pools. There's plenty of sand and piles of pebbles for sand castle building, and beautiful clear water for swimming.

Arvor Sea Kayaking offer guided kayaking trips throughout the year, and Cornwall Divers will take you on a scuba diving course from the beach! And, at low tide, you may spot the famous Scottish trawler, Ben Asdale, that was wrecked off the Maenporth coast on 30th December 1978.

The nearest town is Falmouth - the third largest natural harbour in the world - take a boat trip along the Carrick Waters to a smuggler's cottage, or hop on the ferry to St Mawes. Visit the Maritime Museum, great for children with its hands-on approach. Catch some Grand Medieval Jousting at Pendennis Castle. Or simply sit with a cold glass of white wine and watch the boats glide by.

Whatever you choose to do, you'll be sure to unwind from the stresses of life, and simply relax...
