About the property

Casa Levana is set in a small, picturesque and typically charming village in Andalucia, Southern Spain.

It is a large, traditional spanish country house which has been sympathetically restored to retain its rustic charm but with modern facilities.

There are 3 large bedrooms, two of which have en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning. Downstairs there is a fully equipped kitchen with a separate dining room and living room and large bathroom.

There are also three totally secluded patio areas.

Casa Levana is a great base for exploring Andalucia and the surrounding area. The beautiful, historic sites of Granada, Cordoba and Seville are all within easy driving distance. The area is also perfect for walking, cycling, bird watching and painting.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Casa Levana. Its a big house with lots of sitting areas both inside and out. We particularly liked the sun room. The weather was kind to us so we had lovely sunny days and then enjoyed sitting by the roaring log fire in the evenings. I imagine sitting out on the patio on summer evenings would be lovely - unfortunately it wasn't quite warm enough for us in April! We would love to come back and spend some time in the summer months.

Our very first holiday abroad as a family (2 adults & 2 boys 16 & 18) was made all the more memorable by our choice to stay at Casa Levana. This traditional Spanish house with its typical country style layout and rural setting amid the hills and acres of olive groves felt like we were totally immersed in unspoilt Andalusia, away from the cosmopolitan business of the costas (might not suit families with very small children given steepness of some of the internal stairs) Whilst we were within striking distance of the coast and other big towns, we always had the tranquil oasis of Casa Levana and its beautiful courtyard to escape to. We especially enjoyed the nearby lakes for swimming and eating out in nearby La Roda Andalusia. Best of all were the mornings and evenings around the house in the courtyard and patios. Anne was very helpful with useful advice leading up to our stay and we loved reading about her story in acquiring the house. If you want the real deal but still be close enough to big towns like Antequera (rental car vital) then we would heartily recommend Casa Levanna to you. Jim & Janice

The accommodation is massive, well equipped clean and comfortable. It is a fantastic sun trap!

  • 5 of 5

As we were previously informed, it's a little out of the way but the little town of La Roda is just less than 10 minutes away by car, nice little supermarkets, Banks a few other shops and an outside Olympic sized, ultra clean swimming pool where everyone in the town seems to congregate between 2-7 pm. A great vibe there it's like party time on the beach; very friendly and safe too!! Ideally placed around an hours drive from the airport, Seville and Granada. The rooms are large, air con is good, and necessary too as it's so hot there in July. All floors are tiled which helps to keep it cool and shutters on each window. The kitchen has a good selection of equipment but no extractor fan. There were six in our party, 4 adults and two children 13 and10 years and at no time do you feel crowded at all. In fact we didn't get to use the dining room or lounge or the detached sun room as we dined outside on one of the three terraces. I would definitely stay again at the drop of a hat.

The owners gave us so much info prior to arrival and there is a welcome file which has all the info you would require for your stay.

One thing to point out is the stairs are quite steep, and the journey from the kitchen to the outside dining area is a little bit of a trek otherwise for me it was fantastic!!!

A wonderful base in Andalusia

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our week long sojourn and it served its purpose as a great base from which to explore Andalusia. Our two boys aged 4 and 6 were mesmerised by the patio layout with the lemon tree and having a park less than 50m down the lane was a huge blessing. It is remote so does require some planning when it comes to meals etc but no real trouble with Google and Anne's excellent information pack. All in all a lovely rural idyll.

Shades of Ancient Andalucia

  • 5 of 5

We (couple in our 70's) stayed in this lovely, atmospheric Andaluz property for six nights, using it as a base for day trips to Sevilla, Cordoba, Ronda and local mountain areas - we had already stayed in Granada, which is also easily reachable. From the beautiful soft light that floods the courtyards, particularly in the evenings, to the scent of Jasmine every time you open the front door, to the line of lemon trees on the street outside, this is the authentic experience of Andalucia. Set in the middle of Olive groves in the centre of the province, the house is roomy with lots of spaces, indoors and out, and is equipped with everything you might need for your stay. The local town of La Roda de Andalucia has most services and the lovely old city of Antequera, which has hypermercados as well as its tourist opportunities, is a 35 minute drive away. Casa Levana is just over 1 hour and 10 minutes by car from Malaga airport.

Although not a 5-star hotel, Casa Levana is perfect for those who appreciate Spain and, particularly, Andalucia. You really feel part of the scene and the Casa is an important element of your experience here!
