The Yachtsman offers high quality self-catering accommodation in the heart of nautical Cowes, close to all facilities in this vibrant seaside town.

The property is ideal for sailors, walkers and cyclists, being ideally situated close to the marinas, footpaths and cycle paths. There is a drying room with sink for coping with wet and/or dirty clothes and boots, and ample undercover storage.

Cowes is also a well placed town from which families can explore the whole Island, or spend time at the pebble beach at Cowes seafront on the picturesque Solent.

The Yachtsman provides spacious accommodation for 8-10 guests, in 4 Bedrooms on the 1st and 2nd floors, comprising a Master Double Bedroom with ensuite Shower/WC, a Bunk Room, two Twin Bedrooms which can be adapted to accommodate 3 single beds, a Bathroom with shower over, and a separate Shower/WC. Please note that for guests staying at The Yachtsman after January 2017, the two Twin Bedrooms will be adapted so that there is one Twin Bedroom (adaptable to 3 single beds) and one further double bedroom (king size bed), with the option of an additional single bed for close friends or children.

On the ground floor there is a Sitting Room which provides a quiet haven from the outside hustle and bustle. The cosy Snug attached to the Kitchen/Breakfast area allows guests to relax in comfortable surroundings while being in touch with the activity in the Kitchen.

Outside there is a south facing garden with a large split level deck, enjoying an enviable mix of sun and shade from sunrise to sunset, with patio furniture, and a BBQ.

The Outhouse has a fridge, sink, and a long hanging rail with electric heater under for drying clothes. The adjoining 2nd World War Air Raid Shelter provides a secure indoor storage area.

The Yachtsman has been awarded 4* by Visit England, the National Tourist Board for England. "Centrally located within the nautical town of Cowes and a short walk away from all the local amenities and attractions making this an ideal base as this multi-generational accommodation can ably cater for a wide range of market sectors".

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Yachtsman. We loved the house and it was a pleasure to come back to at the end of a busy day. The accommodation was ideal for our needs. The location of The Yachtsman is excellent. We were able to park easily in York Street. This was important as we had four small children, a pushchair etc. The house is a short, easy walk into the town centre with all its amenities and delightful sea front, great for an evening out without having to drive. We thought Cowes a good base for exploring the rest of the island. Everything was within easy driving distance. We discovered some wonderful beaches, great National Trust and other historical buildings and gardens and lots for the children to do. There is something for everyone on the Isle of Wight. We would have no hesitation in recommending The Yachtsman and will definitely be visiting The Isle of Wight again.

Owner's Response: Keith and family have summed up the Isle of Wight and why it is a perfect holiday destination for people of all ages and with all types of interest. Cowes is friendly and accessible with its predominately pedestrianised High Street, and if you stay at The Yachtsman everything in town from shops, restaurants, pubs, marinas, bus stops, cycle routes, ferry terminals, are all just a short walk away.

The property decor is fantastic and it has everything u could possibly want or need in it. It is an ideal location for exploring the island.

Great stay, location, and would not hesitate to stay here again! =)

Property was in a good clean condition, and all instructions from the housekeeper/owner was clear and well communicated.

The Yachtsman is in a great location, with local amenities and close to the ferry dock (via Southampton)

Would highly recommend and would not think twice about staying again.

Welcoming, pristine. Excellent decor and equipment. All rooms well furnished and comfortable.

The Yachtsman is in a prime location in Cowes . Very good restaurants only 10 minutes walk away, as is a local supermarket. Everything provided for a relaxing break.

The property is light and airy, well furnished and welcoming. Our party consisted of adults and children from ages 12 to eighteen months and all enjoyed their stay very much.
