This neat, simple little house, built in 1905, is less than ten minutes walk from the town center, conference centre and supermarket and adjacent to the railway line (infrequent, day time operating only). It has only recently been renovated from scratch and is new to the letting market in Harrogate. It has two good sized bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two singles. The kitchen and utility rooms are well equipped with all new appliances including dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The bathroom suite with an over the bath shower, is modern and, as are all fixings, fittings and furniture, brand new. The living room is comfortably arranged with two large sofas and the house is centrally heated throughout. The entrance to the house is via the seating area at the back of the house.

About Joe Davey

This house is owned by a couple of families whose friendship goes back more years than either would care to remember. The adults grew up in the Harrogate area but now live away, in Bath and in New Zealand working in education, the health service and in forestry! We have bought the house to use when we are visiting family in God's own country (as Yorkshire folk would have us know) and offer it to others for holiday use. We like it and hope that you will too.

The house is in an ideal location, close to town, the Harrogate Conference Centre, railway and bus stations, supermarkets and trendy local shops. Harrogate is a gem but so is the surrounding area, well worth exploring.

This is a newly renovated, clean and comfortable little house, perfect for short breaks in Harrogate. It is well equipped and has all that you would expect of good quality holiday accommodation. Its central position is major benefit, being about a seven minute level walk into town and to the Conference Center and about ten from the train and bus station.

Comfy, clean & cosy

Lovely little house. About 15 mins walk from Harrogate station & 5 mins from a large Asda. Very clean and with everything we needed. Owners left milk & tea etc that we really appreciated. Will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

This former railway worker's cottage is conveniently placed to enjoy all what Harrogate has to offer. Known for its 'waters', Victorian genteel folk flocked here to imbibe the sulphur smelling liquid to cure all manner of ailments. You can still taste the foul stuff at the Pump Rooms which, even if you don't fancy a tipple, is well worth a visit. People nowadays do it in luxury and head for the Turkish Baths for spa treatments and pandering, again well worth it. For sporty types there is a sports center with a great swimming pool, tennis and pitch and putt in Valley Gardens, numerous gyms, four golf courses, Harrogate Town football, cricket, Hockey and rugby clubs for those who prefer to watch.

Assuming that you do not need 'treating' or you feel holidays are not for exertion, then take a stroll around Harrogate's Victorian streets and take in the magnificent architecture of the civic buildings, grand residences and hotels. For some greenery take a walk in the town's Victorian park; Valley Gardens, walk in the 200 acre green space; the Stray, and, just out of town, visit the world famous RHS Harlow Carr Gardens and Stavely Nature Reserve.

If you are here for a conference or exhibition (and the Harrogate International Conference Centre is five minute walk from the house) there are Victorian and more modern pubs and restaurants aplenty in which to tear off your name tag and forget that you are here on business.

If you fancy some culture, the delightful Mercer Gallery, independent galleries, a cinema (soon to be two), a beautifully restored theatre and the Royal Hall will cater for all tastes. For that other therapy there are the usual chain shops, independent ones, in town supermarkets (and out) and a place called Betty's.

Harrogate is compact enough to do most of the above on foot and it really has everything you will need for a great holiday. If, however, you feel that you have exhausted all that the town has to offer then take short a trip out to Brimham Rocks for a scramble, Benningborough Hall for a National Trust cream tea, Fountain's Abbey to see the worst that Henry VIII did, Leeds and York (which are connected to Harrogate by train, Ripon for its Cathedral and Light Water Valley theme park, Ripley Castle, Newby Hall and Knaresborough for its spectacular viaduct and prophesising witch.

A little further afield you can taste the best curries in the country in Bradford, go for a walk or bike ride in the Yorkshire Dales or North York Moors or even take a day trip to Scarborough.

Harrogate is a magnificent and charming town surrounded by wonderful countryside, towns and cities - you really couldn't wish for a better holiday destination, unless you want some skiing (although there is a dry slope in Castleford!).
