Beautiful 17th century stone cottage renovated to a high standard and with many original features such as stone walls and oak beamed ceilings. The cottage stands in a large garden of around one third of an acre and has stunning views across the Normandy countryside. It has a large south facing patio which gets the sun all day.

The kitchen is fully fitted with a granite work surface. It has a fridge-freeezer, cooker and separate hob. It also has a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine.
The cottage has been tastefully and comfortably furnished. The lounge has a TV and DVD player with around 80 DVD's. The TV receives English channels. The dining room has a good quality CD player and a collection of CD's. There are also a number of board etc games provided.
The garden is very pretty with a good sized patio and wooden garden furniture. Deck chairs and an umbrella are also provided together with a BBQ and a number of outdoor games.
The house is in a very quiet hamlet yet only a 5 minutes drive from the small town of Brecey which has two supermarkets, restaurants, bars, two banks (with ATM's), pharmacy's etc. It is around a 30 minutes drive to a number of beautiful beaches; there are also a number of easily accessible local attractions including Mont St Michel (35 minute drive), 18 hole golf course at Lake Dathee (30 minute drive), zoo at Champrepus (25 minute drive) and many more. It is an easy drive to the D Day beaches as well.
There are number of high quality local restuarants nearby to suit all tastes including fine dining and a very good local pizzeria (who also do take away).
Thre are regular local markets which are great for buying French cheese and other local produce. Details are all available at the cottage.
Our names are Joe & Lisa and we bought La Cour Celland 13 years ago as a holiday home. Joe is a hospital manager and Lisa is a tax adviser. Our main home is in West London.
We both love the cottage which we regularly visit ourselves and have had numerous memorable holidays there with family and friends over the years. We have rented the cottage to holidaymakers for over 10 years and in that time we have always received great feedback from guests who particularly like the peaceful setting and the original features.
Joe Johnson & Lisa Vanderheide purchased this cottage in 2003
The cottage is in a fabulous rural location but is not isolated. We love it because it is very close to the coast and there is a lot to do in the area. There are also a number of very good local restaurants - all very reasonably priced.
We fell in love with the cottage because it had been renovated to an extremely high standard while retaining original features such as the stone walls and beamed ceilings. There are also lots of little quirky touches including the beautifully arched lounge door and stone seats in the garden.
Just returned from a week at this beautiful home. As previous people have stated, it's an extremely well equipped cottage, everything you can ask for for a self catering holiday is provided. We have stayed in a few home owners properties but have to say this was the best equipped. It really does make it feel like a home from home holiday. The gardens too are very well equipped extra chairs, games etc.
The house and gardens are as stated and as you see on the photos, both are very well maintained and to a high standard. We loved the games and books that were provided, along with the DVD's (Nothing is forgotten) .
Lisa and Joe were very friendly and no question was to much trouble.
The house is 4KM from the town of Brecey with a couple of supermarkets, the bakers, butchers, a couple of petrol stations, and a few shops bars and restaurants. We were lucky to be there when the Tour De France came through too.
The house is with in 30 mins drive to Avranches (Nice church, gardens and a small castle) and Villedieu Les Poeles (Beautiful town and worth a visit for the copper) Granville (Christian Dior house and a nice town with a large market on a Saturday) Jullouville (lovely beach) 45 mins drive of Mont St Michal and Fougeres (highly recommend a trip to the castle) And no more than 1 hour 15 Mins to the the D-Day landing beaches and Beayeux ( Nice church and town as well as the famous tapestry)
Highly recommend this beautiful cottage.
We have stayed in this beautiful, extremely well equipped cottage on a number of occasions and it is always a joy to revisit.
The owners, Lisa and Joe are delightful - very friendly and helpful - and have maintained the cottage to a very high standard. The cottage is very well equipped - it really feels like a home from home - everything you could possibly need for self catering is available. The location is ideal and well placed if you want to tour the region. Highly recommended things to do include a visit to Mont-St-Michel - the guided walk (takes about 3 hours) is lovely to do on a warm day, the beach at Jullioville is lovely, and Avranches and Dinan are good for shopping. There are lots of lovely restaurants in the area too with La Littre in Avranches and Le Moulin de Jean (Cuvees) worth a visit - the latter is great for a special occasion. The local pizzeria - Le Petit Nicholas in Brecy is marvellous and a great favourite whenever we visit. We hope to visit again this summer - highly recommended
We loved this cottage and had a fabulous week there. It is very well equipped; it is also comfortably and tastefully furnished. The garden is large and very pretty with some amazing views. There is plenty to do in the area and most attractions are within a 30 minutes drive. We will definitely be back!
