About the Owner

I am one of 4, who grew up coming to Appledore as a kid. North Devon was where my father was from (his father was the local doctor). We left Devon as a family a long time ago but retained our link through this place.

Spacious, well equipped, homely home from home

The Boat yard in Appledore met all our expectations. Ample room for us with six adults and two children over the weekend. We spent evenings in cooking and eating together in the conservatory which even though it was October maintained a nice temperature with the central heating. A log burner would also add to the warmth in the winter months. Bedrooms clean and attractive with great views across the estuary. Parking ample on main Appledore carpark just a short distance away.

Appledore was a charming little place with plenty to see and do locally. Local people very friendly. Would without doubht return to property and Appledore

Brilliant. Every amenity one could possibly want. Cosy, comfortably. Beautifully furnished etc

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is magnificently situated on the water side. It is easy acces to the quay and all its sociable benches and coffee shops etc. It is a great base for the local walking , either along the beech or the coastal path. Loved the friendly people and the relaxed north Devon environment generally.

Thank you Richard .

Sorry to disturb your peace so far away. Have left the spare keys /receipt in the cottage

Many thanks

Very well equipped house in perfect location with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week in Appledore. The house is perfectly situated with just a short walk in one direction to the shops or to the beach in the other direction. I dont think we've stayed in a house that was so well equipped. The fact that there was a cot, high chair, pushchair and lots of toys was a godsend for the children (not to mention saved us lots of space in the car) and the coffee machine was very much appreciated by the adults! But the best thing for us was the fact that we could crab fish off the end of the terrace. Our two older boys made us arrange every day around high tide so they could have their daily crabbing contest!

brilliant!

Beautiful house with a view (ever-changing with the tide and goings-on) to die for. Everything you could want in a home. Appledore a charming location completely unspoiled with so much of interest to see. Don't miss the Sea Gate for very good eating and hospitality. We'd certainly go back.

Superb location, fantastic property

  • 5 of 5

Have recently returned from a superb stay here over new year (2 families), excellent to have independent bedroom/bathroom space per family. The house was spacious and we were so impressed with the high quality of all fixtures, bedding etc the location is extremely central to the village, view from rear of house is amazing, would highly recommend
