Heaven

An unbelievable villa, amazing location and views. Just a short drive to everything you need. It could not be more perfect. Lovely welcome by the host. We stayed in October and the weather was outstanding too, it could have easily been July or August. 5 stars :-)

Contemporary Villa with Stunning Sea Views

We rented this property for 3 weeks in Aug/Sept 2021. The villa is very spacious though it’s best feature is the views over the hills and sea. The kitchen is well equipped with all utensils and electrical aids. There is also a separate bbq house with table/chairs and pizza oven, though we didn’t use this. The gated garage is huge and is under the villa. Access to the villa is via a large electric gate though this proved to be temperamental (wouldn’t close) The host Miguel is very helpful and only a phone call away for help, which we needed a few times. There are a few points I feel we should raise for future guests. There is no cleaning of the villa or pool included in the price, so should you need bedding/towels changed, there is an additional charge. Pool heating is also extra. Also the downstairs toilet is locked off to guests so we had to use the bedroom toilets, I was assured the pool lights were working though the switch is in the locked pump room in the basement. Fortunately Miguel gave me the key for the duration of our stay. The main electric breaker switch also flipped 5 times. Overall I have no hesitation in recommending this villa, you won’t be disappointed though there are a few improvements need to make it truly exceptional.

Stunning large villa with front line sea views

We had a lovely welcome with lots of information from Miguel who was available throughout our stay. The location of the villa is stunning as is the actual villa. There are lovely sofas to sit around on in the huge lounge and the kitchen diner has a large table with seating for 8. The kitchen is well equipped with albeit an eclectic range of everything you could possibly need. The bedrooms are lovely too. The villa is situated in a quiet location which is a 5 - 8 minute taxi ride to the beach and marina in Calheta. There are a couple of restaurants in walking distance and a bakery. This does involve a climb up/down a steep hill! We gave the overall rating a 4, only because there are a few areas that we felt needed some additional attention which would then make it absolutely perfect. There was no air conditioning in the 3rd bedroom and no guest toilet on the ground floor. The swimming pool is lovely but very deep so making it rather cold when the sun isn't on it. Heating the pool costs €48 per day as an additional cost. Areas that can be easily remedied: * There is a balcony to each room but no outside furniture to sit on and take in the amazing view. *there are 6 sun loungers but only seating for 4 to sit at the outside table. More outside furniture would be good *The bedrooms need bedside lights * Currently there is 1 pillow. ( It would be good to have 2 per person to allow for sleep preferences) Overall however this is a stunning very special villa.

Stunning location and villa

Villa Camacho is in a very quiet position which was perfect and we spent a lot of time on the very large deck area enjoying the view and stunning sunsets. The villa is lovely, very modern and light. Sadly the pool lights were not working when we were there which would have been a nice touch, to light the house softly in the evenings. The kitchen is well equipped but could do with a sieve! The reason I have given it a 4 star overall is because some of the finer detail descriptions, which may not bother some people I'm sure. Pantry items - there were some teabags but nothing else - no salt/pepper, oil etc, no dishwasher tablets. Usually we do find these items in villas. The fitness room (only an old stationary bike in the garage). The stereo is music from the TV. Having said the above we had a really really lovely holiday there, it would just be nice to know beforehand all the correct details to avoid any disappointment. Thank you Miguel. Madeira is a beautiful island, so green and lush. Highlights of the holiday were seeing dolphins and a starfish!

What makes this property unique

The southwestern coast of Madeira is ideal for all those, looking for unspoilt nature and part of the island with the warmest climate, far away from the usual tourism centres of Funchal.In the winter season it offers still very moderate temperatures so that you can even swim in the atlantic nearby. You reach the sea by an artificial sandy beach, built in 2006 with imported sand from Marocco. Beside the beach you find the Marina with some bars and restaurants and elegant yachts. From here you can start several excursions by boat : big game fishing or whale and dolphin watching.
An old sugar cane factory is working once a year ( march/april)but open throughout the whole year :you can taste the products made in the factory.
For all those who like to walk here is the ideal place to start : the national park Rabaçal - Worlds nature heritage ( UNESCO) - is perfect for some Levada walks ( 25 fontes / Risco waterfall).Here you find Madeiras "Laurissilva" - Laurel forests and enjoy the unspoilt Madeira, as it was at the time it was discovered.....
